Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo and Fan Expo LLC is suing the NFL for damages that are worth over $1 million for interfering in an National Fantasy Football Convention in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Fan Expo LLC had a partnership and contractual agreement with NFL stars Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, Rob Gronkowski, and Odell Beckham Jr, just to name a few to attend the event. The event was scheduled from July 10-12, but the NFL illegally threatened to suspend and fine any player who attended the event.
NFL even threatened Fantasy Football god Michael Fabiano, who was the host of the convention that he would be risking the loss of his job at NFL Network.
The NFL claims the convention violates the NFL gambling policy which doesn’t allow any participation with gambling related sponsorships or appearances. Fan Expo LLC claims the three day event didn’t violate that policy, it just happened to be hosted in ‘Sin City’ viva Las Vegas.
Romo had this to say on ESPN’s Herd of Colin Cowherd.
“If we had known about the issue of the place or thought that was something that could’ve been an issue, the NFL could have told us right away,” Romo said on ESPN’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “The NFL never called me or my agency or the NFFC.”
At the end the NFL got what it wanted, Fan Expo canceled the event and refunded everyone that would have attended or participated.
