With training camps starting to begin or just now beginning for all 32 teams, the idea of predicting every team’s record for the 2019 season is too spicy to pass up.
We’re all hungry for the slightest of football content, even with camps starting up.
So I’m here to be the hero for your football related content starvation.
Now I know this is a touchy subject that is bound to have no chance of receiving 100% positive feedback.
Believe me, I’m pretty ready for it.
So if you don’t like my record for your team, then hey, I’m sorry.
Just how I see their season playing out.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at my record prediction for every NFL team.
Arizona Cardinals
2019 Prediction: 3-13
The Arizona Cardinals have a fresh new face at head coach in Kliff Kingsbury. Also a new, shiny young QB in Kyler Murray. Kingsbury brings the air raid, up tempo offense that had Texas Tech lighting up scoreboards season after season. Pairing that with Murray, who comes from a dynamic offense himself, will have the potential for some fireworks this season.
The offense rounds out with future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald and a lot of young newcomers looking to make a name for their self.
The defense boasts some recognizable names till in Chandler Jones and Robert Nkemdiche. But other than those 2, there isn’t much to be excited about.
The Cardinals have a chance to be a pretty interesting team to watch. But with a lot of holes on the roster still, plus a young core that still needs time to gel, I don’t expect the Cardinals to be turning any heads this year record wise.
The offense could be very fun to watch however.
Atlanta Falcons
2019 Prediction: 9-7
The Falcons return most of their team from last season, after the season was lost early on due to so many injuries on defense. Keanu Neal returns to patrol the middle of the field after tearing his ACL last season. Deion Jones also returns from a foot injury, but added a big contract extension in the offseason.
Injuries were the name of the game for the Falcons as you can see. Devonta Freeman missed a lot of time with injury, even the Falcons offensive line had trouble staying healthy.
With all of the team back, plus with the same explosive offense still intact, I expect the Falcons to improve from last season.
But not enough to win the division.
Baltimore Ravens
2019 Prediction: 10-6
The Ravens will be lead by second year pro Lamar Jackson, who took the league by storm during his rookie year
He’ll need to show he can be respectable throwing the football down the field in order for defenses to lay off the Ravens running game.
The defense remains mostly the same. Except for the departures of Terrell Suggs, Za’Darius Smith, and Eric Weddle for starters.
The Ravens have plenty of talent, but the question remains can Lamar Jackson be respectable as a passer.
I think he can a bit.
Buffalo Bills
2019 Prediction: 5-11
The Bills are back after a 6-10 year that saw the defense play exceptionally well. In fact, you could argue that the defense was the only watchable part of the team.
Josh Allen, the 7th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, played some poor football last season. Yes, he does have an absolute rocket of an arm, but his accuracy is a major issue. An issue that could seemingly put a dent in Buffalo’s future plans
While he is an excellent athlete who can open up a rather boring Bills offense, he needs to take major strides in his game to get the Bills even close to a playoff spot.
While it’s possible he does, I don’t believe he will be able to do so in his 2nd season.
Carolina Panthers
2019 Prediction: 9-7
The Panthers are a team to watch this year. They looked like a contender in the NFC, before they were spanked 52-21 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. This also doomed the season for franchise QB Cam Newton, as he suffered a shoulder injury during the game that derailed his 2018 season.
Newton returns to the Panthers healthy and ready to bounce back into his form before his shoulder injury. The defense looks ready to go as well after the addition of ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Gerald McCoy.
Expect the Panthers to contend for a playoff spot, especially if Cam Newton can stay healthy.
Chicago Bears
2019 Prediction: 11-5
Chi Town is hype once again for their Bears after a surprise 12-4 season with rookie head coach Matt Nagy at the helm. But their dream season came to an abrupt end, after kicker Cody Parkey missed a field goal to win the game, during a season when Parkey had massive struggles.
The team returns the as same as last season, but with departures of Adrian Amos and Kevin White.
The Bears will still, I believe, win the NFC North, but I think they drop one more game than they did last season.
Either way, they’ll have a great year.
Cincinnati Bengals
2019 Prediction: 3-13
The Bengals are pretty much an afterthought to say the least. The team moved on from longtime head coach Marvin Lewis, and brought in Rams QB coach Zac Taylor to run the team.
Andy Dalton still remains as the QB heading into 2019, but it remains to be seen whether he can get out of the average pool of quarterbacks around the league.
AJ Green also returns from an injury filled 2018. Look for him to contribute plenty, alongside Tyler Boyd.
The Bengals did make some changes, but they’re still stuck in a below average phase of play.
Don’t expect too much from these group of guys.
Cleveland Browns
2019 Prediction: 12-4
The Browns are back!
Well, for the first time since 2002.
Well, that’s the mood around the team for this year.
With the addition of All Pro WR Odell Beckham Jr., many have the Browns taking a giant leap towards the playoffs.
Browns? Playoffs?
Believe it.
Now I don’t believe they’ll gel right away, but t at won’t allow them to drop a couple game due to it.
Believe the hype Cleveland.
Dallas Cowboys
2019 Prediction: 7-9
The air is always right in the Big D for the Dallas Cowboys. After a division winning 10-6 record last season, the Cowboys will have one team that can give them some completion for the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dak Prescott is looking to build on his decent 2018. In which he threw for 3,385 yards, 22 touchdowns, and only 8 INTs.
His running mate behind him, Ezekiel Elliott, is looking to continue his dominance on the ground. Setting the tone for the offense is something Elliott is looked upon to do week in and week out.
Don’t expect that to change.
Denver Broncos
2019 Prediction: 5-11
John Elway has built a meh team.
Again.
But this time it’s in 2019.
Bonus!
Adding Joe Flacco to start only continues Elway’s process of starting average middle aged QBs.
Drew Lock is however the new rookie in town, and is going to be looked on as the QB of the future.
The defense comes back with a devastating combo of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb lining up on the edge. With Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby manning the corner spots.
This team isn’t going to contend for the AFC West. They could maybe just MAYBE surprise and contend for a wild card spot.
But don’t count on it.
