The Oakland A’s certainly have been known to have a flair for the dramatic, from their ‘Moneyball’ days in winning 20 games straight to now.
The Rangers seemingly had the division locked, the only question was if the Angels would make a run. No one saw the young scrappy team from Oakland even coming. They lay in waiting 12 games out of 1st place by the end of June, they team has fought tooth and nail to get to where they are.
There wins have been almost as improbable as their comeback, as they perfected the art of the walk-off soon to lead the league in the category. All the A’s need is a Yankees loss to claim best record in the AL and they’d go on to play the wild card team in a one game playoff.
The A’s battled back in this game to sweep the Rangers coming back from a 5-1 deficit. The Rangers looked plain spent and bewildered by the ferocity of the team that for so long they underestimated. The A’s have done their job now they wait to see what the playoffs have in store as games 162 take place all over the baseball.
