Iowa’s Jonathan Parker took the kickoff near the end zone and almost immediately started to head out of bounds. What he did next left the world scratching their heads.
As Parker starts to fall out of bounds he tries to throw the ball forward for reasons only he knows and the Volunteers recovered the ball.
Here’s another angle as the Volunteers jump on the ball. Not only can you not throw the ball forward, but the play really made no sense in any context. I am sure Parker is going to hear it from the coach and teammates for one of the biggest boneheaded plays I’ve seen. Iowa was already trailing Tennessee 28-0 at the time in the Taxslayer Bowl and are up 35-7 at halftime.
