After the NBA last season was suspended in March, Pacers fans had to watch games played virtually during the bubble in the aftermath.
The Bankers Life Fieldhouse was live and electric with die-hard fans screaming for the Pacers to win.
Eric Barnes had a tradition as a fan who goes shopping at the Motor Speedway gift shop.
Barnes experience hit home and he has a story he’ll never forget on March 10.
“It’s been nearly a year since the last full-capacity Pacers game, one of the final full-capacity events in the United States since the country was shut down due to COVID-19. The fans who attended that day, more than anything, are shocked at how normal the experience felt. Maskless individuals still screamed at former IU guard and then-Celtics rookie Romeo Langford. They came with their siblings, their children and their grandparents. They thought as long as they kept their hands washed, they would be safe,” via the IndyStar.
