Phil Davis was a top 5 light heavyweight in the UFC but that didn’t stop him from jumping ship to their #1 competitor.
Bellator MMA announced today that Phil has signed a deal with the company:
It’s a “wonderful” day here at #BellatorMMA. Proud to welcome @philmrwonderful to the family! http://t.co/Kr5eW0RgfP pic.twitter.com/0oGkXBIDty

Phil had this to say about joining the Bellator family:
“I can’t wait to be fighting in Bellator and wreck shop on everyone,” said Davis in a statement. “I am the absolute best and most dominant grappler to ever fight in MMA and I’m excited to get in there and compete at my new home.”
Seems like a money grab by Phil Davis but it may help him round into a better overall fighter which can only help his MMA career moving forward. We all know his brand of hugging fighters for 3 rounds in UFC matches wasn’t going to make him a household.
