Is this what people mean when they say, “Pimpin’ aint easy?”
Our friends at TheShoeGame.com directed us towards this bizarre story involving Nike, a pimp, and a woman abused with a shoe.
Sirgiorgio Clardy is currently serving a 100 year sentence for forcing a woman into prostitution as well as beating her with an Air Jordan shoe so bad she bled from her ears. In addition to stomping on a man’s face repeatedly for not paying up… with the same shoes he used on ol’ girl. Yeah, crazy right? A psychologist who evaluated Mr. Clardy upon conviction concluded that he was 100% more than likely to commit the same crime again.
In early January of 2014, Sirgiorgio claimed that Nike should have put a label on his Air Jordans warning people they could be used as a dangerous weapon. From prison he filed for a $100 Million lawsuit against Nike for this oversight. In fact, it was a three page complaint.
$100 Million can buy you a lot of Cigarillos in prison, thus giving you all the juice in the yard. This case was a big deal.
Needless to say, Mr. Clardy had his day in court with Nike recently and spent 23 minutes pleading his case toward the Judge. Nike spent all of 90 seconds claiming their shoes have no defects when used normally.
The judge dismissed the lawsuit, then offered this commentary:
“You’ve wasted my time here, Mr. Clardy. We’ve bent over backwards to give you a chance.”
The fact that this case made it in front of a judge is mind boggling and Mr. Sirgiorgio sounds like he has deeper problems than just his misuse of sneakers.
I’m still wondering what Sirgiorgio was going to do with $100 million dollars in prison? In my expert opinion (I’ve watched every season of Orange is the New Black) I can’t see anyone needing that much money on their books. That’s a lot of cigs & Top Ramen.
