The Atlanta Falcons in a surprise move released veteran defensive end Ray Edwards. In 2011 Edwards signed a five-year $27.5 million dollar contract, including $11 million guaranteed.
As good as John Abraham has been Edwards has been equally unimpressive. He lost is starting spot this year to Kroy Biermann and to date has only recorded 9 tackles and zero sacks. In a league dominated by quarterbacks, have quality pass rushers is key. He hasn’t produced since coming to the Falcons, but he should get an opportunity somewhere.
