Did Rick Pitino Give UK Fan The Middle Finger After Loss? (Video)

I’m not sure if this was Rick Pitino’s last game in Rupp Arena, but he has to have nightmares at his inability to beat a John Calipari coached team.

An angry Pitino was allegedly — caught on video — courtesy of KSR — giving a Kentucky fan the middle finger on his way into the tunnel.

Some Louisville fans have argued that he was throwing up the ‘L.’

Pitino denied he made the gesture and also explained what he was doing.

“No I didn’t flip off the fans. I was in the tunnel. People were yelling ugly crude things that I didn’t like. The 1-8 comment [Pitino’s record against Kentucky coach John Calipari] was fine. But the other comments I didn’t like.”

Asked whether he gestured in any way toward the crowd, Pitino said, “My recollection was a, ‘we r #1.'”

Rick Pitino Compares Louisville Frontcourt To Christina Aguilera

I knew Louisville’s wing players played soft against Kentucky on Saturday, but Rick Pitino really put it into perspective.

Pitino, who was disgusted after that loss, took to his own website, RickPitino.com, to vent and blog about how soft his frontcourt was against the Wildcats.

In doing so, Pitino compared his frontcourt to Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.

Let me give you an analogy of our front court knowing who they are.  It’s like having Christina Aguilera to sing at a concert, she comes out, ignores her great voice and dances for two hours. That’s our front court. I remember as if were yesterday asking Rodrick Rhodes, who played for me at UK, this question.  You are a great defender, slasher and passer — why are you trying to show everyone the 3pt shot is your thing?

People come to watch Christina sing.

People would come to watch Rodrick pass, slash, and defend…. In other words, Montrezl and Chane – Need to dominate the paint. Rebound like Kenneth Faried , defend like Dennis Rodman, block shots and dunk.  Score off rip moves and leave the dancing to Justin Timberlake.

Wow coach.
