The officers of the San Jose Police Department will have to figure out other ways to make money on the side after having their moonlighting gig with the 49ers suspended.
According to The Mercury News, Ray McDonald’s domestic violence case took another turn when it was revealed that Sgt. Sean Pritchard, an on-duty San Jose cop, was a guest at McDonald’s home for the birthday party that turned into a domestic incident.
“Due to the complexities of the investigation, both criminally and administratively, we feel that it is in our best interest to suspend all San Francisco 49er secondary employment related assignments until further notice,” Police Chief Larry Esquivel said in a brief statement released Friday afternoon.
Pritchard, who did off-duty security work for the team, went to McDonald’s home after the defensive tackle called him personally and was already on the scene when other officers arrived.
