Since Prince’s untimely passing, their have been many scrambling to put together a tribute worthy of “The Purple One”. His siblings are no different.
While waiting for the details of the estate distribution to be ironed out, sources tell TMZ that 3 or 4 of the singer’s siblings and their lawyers have put together a TV package, complete with top-notch producers and famous artists who will pay tribute to the late singer by performing his songs in a 2-hour TV special due to air in August. The plan is for the special to be co-produced by all 6 siblings.
The roadblock comes in the form of Prince’s sister Tyka who wants her own independent special. Tyka has been the subject of ire for the other siblings as she has been able to live rent-free in one of Prince’s properties. Since the bank is still taking care of the expenses of the home Tyka resides in, Prince’s brothers and sisters feel it’s only right that they receive similar support. They have received nothing as they await the execution of the estate; hence the idea for the television special.
Will sibling rivalry play out in competing tributes honoring the late “Purple Rain” singer?
