Although he’s hockey’s biggest star, the streak of Pittsburgh Penguins center, Sidney Crosby, missing the Annual NHL all-star game will continue.
USA Today is reporting that due to a lower body injury, Crosby will sit out the event, again. The team said he’s been dealing with the injury and will take about a week to rest and heal.
He’s historically been absent from the event throughout his career. In fact, he’s only played in one all-star game, in 2007; due to concussions, other various injuries, a lockout, and Olympic obligations.
Under NHL rules, Crosby will have to sit out the Penguins first game after the all-star break, however; if he needs rest it would be wise to give him the time off now, before the playoff races begin to heat up.
