You know the deal ballers want to be rappers and rappers want to be ballers.

The latest NBA player to step in the booth is Sixers Guard Lou Williams. No Guts, No Glory tracked down this video of “LouWill” rapping over the Meek Mill and Rick Ross instrumental “Imma Boss”.

It isn’t that he is bad (I have heard much much worse), the problem is the redundant content.

We get it you have made over 11 million dollars in the NBA for career averages of:

10 PPG, 3 APG and 2 REB

I would be impressed if any of these athletes who want to dabble in rap, to spit lyrics about something different than how much money they have and how many girls they have slept with. I get the feeling the quality of Lou Williams groupies aren’t anything to be impressed with.

Put a shirt on too, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had an Cheese steak tat on his face by the end of the week.

Vick knows the meaning of being fashionably late as he strolls in in the middle of the 3rd quarter with chants of MVP.

Funny how life works.

In the summer, Vick was one wrong move from being banned from the league. Donovan McNabb was being heralded as the savior in DC, and Kevin Kolb was being label the next Jeff Garcia.

Fast forward to now— McNabb is third string behind Rex Grossman, John Beck is getting booed at Wizards games, Kolb has Faded to Turkey with Allen Iverson, and Vick is sitting on top of the world.

In sports, you just never know how things will turn out.

My first reaction:

Even Antoine Walker is like “Damn Homie”.

My inside sources have told me conflicting reports about Iverson being broke (or not). Some tell me he is suffering from a cash flow problem, while others say he is fine.  Remember there are different types of “broke”.  There is the independent sports journalist “broke” and the MC Hammer “broke”.

According to this article, even if he isn’t broke he has lost a whole lot of money. Here are the details:

As most people assumed Allen Iverson won’t be returning to the Philadelphia 76ers and you just have to wonder if this is truly the end for A.I.

He lasted only three games with the Grizzlies and just over a month with the Sixers. It is hard to see any team picking him up this late in the season with all the headaches that come along with such an acquisition.

Allen Iverson will not return to the 76ers this season, this confirmed by a source close to the team. An official update is expected from the Sixers sometime soon, likely within the next two days. Since Iverson took his second leave on Feb. 20, again for personal reasons, it has been assumed that Iverson was not likely to return to the team. Those assumptions are now confirmed.

I don’t think Iverson’s trip to Charlotte over the weekend had anything to do with the decision.  I am pretty sure the Sixers had no plans on bringing A.I. back regardless if he was popping bottles with Jermaine Dupri or not.

With that being said still a sad way to end a career if this is truly to the end.  Iverson never seem to be able to accept that secondary role on a team which I really think he could have thrived at.

In some ways he reminds me of Ladainian Tomlinson.  When you have been the Alpha Dog for so long you can’t see yourself as anything else and a lot of times that is what cuts your career short.

Allen Iverson missed the All-Star game because of a illness to his daughter, but now the Philadelphia 76ers are considering cutting ties with A.I. all together.

He will not be permitted to travel with the team as they begin a West Coast road trip on Tuesday and according to this Yahoo.com article Iverson may have played his last game in a Sixers uniform:

Iverson is with his family to deal with medical issues concerning his daughter, but his constant in-and-out of the lineup this season has led team officials to believe a permanent break is best for the organization. Sources said Iverson went to team officials over the weekend and said he needed to leave the team again.

Sources say Sixers coach Eddie Jordan addressed the players on Sunday, and told them there’s a chance Iverson may not return to the team. However, Sixers ownership, general manager Ed Stefanski and Jordan haven’t sat down and formally come to that decision, but sources with knowledge of the Sixers plans believe the franchise is leaning in that direction.

Once again if this is truly the end it would be a sad way for such a great player to go out. 

There has to be more to the story and I think I know what it is, so I am going to put on my detective hat on and find out more details.

Because if this is because he wants to spend time with his ill daughter then it is weak on the Sixers part because family should always come first.
