Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls has played pretty solid this year offensively but his defense as well as the team’s total defense has been less than stellar all season. There has been many eyebrows raised questioning why Gibson hasn’t been as effective and active on defense. It’s because Gibson has hide the fact he had a significant injury in his left hand, a stage 2 ligament tear.
“It was severe, they didn’t know what it could do,” Gibson said. “They put this big cast on my hand. It was so…man, I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. I didn’t tell anybody until now because it’s almost healed.”
Gibson and the Bulls have only played 10 games in the past 4 weeks and are schedule to play the Milwaukee Bucks tonight but Gibson is expected to miss the game due to an illness. I guess you have to look at the bright side, one more day with no contact to allow his hand to heal.
