The Tennessee Titans came into today’s game versus the Indianapolis Colts as one of the leading defenses in the NFL. They are currently the number sixth ranked defense in the league and is lead by defense coordinator Dean Pees.
The Titans defense on average give up 328.0 yards and 16.8 points per game. Through two quarters, the Colts offense gained 246 yards and scored 24 points. One of the reasons the defense appears to be lacking could be as the absence of their defensive coordinator who was reportedly taken to a hospital some time during the game because an undisclosed illness.
As per Jim Wyatt of the Titans official page he mentions Pees’ transport to the hospital:
Statement from @Titans:
“Titans Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees was experiencing a medical issue during the game. He was tended to by medical personnel and was transported to a local hospital for further observation.”

Pees was the play caller for the defense and also served as defensive coordinator for the Patriots and Ravens prior to the Titans. We’ll see if head coach Mike Vrabel can take over for today’s game and lead the Titans back to a win.
