An SEC football game between Tennessee and Georgia was disrupted by an outburst of racial slurs by a Georgia student who is on the school’s baseball team.
Adam Sasser, one of the top hitters on the University of Georgia baseball team has reportedly been dismissed from the baseball team after public outcry from the student population after he made racist remarks according to ESPN.
The report mentions that student Klarissa Gulebian posted to her facebook the incident where she described Sasser as screaming obnoxiously during he game for quarterback Justin Fields to get back in the game. According to another student’s twitter, Sasser used the n-word to refer to Justin Fields
“Put the n***er in…”- referring to Justin Fields is what a young adult white male screamed while surrounded by black students.

The Facebook post by Gulebian was made as a response to the lack of police enforcement after they were made aware of what was happening. She felt like this is something that happens too often and needed to be addressed publicly. According to Gulebain:
We’d seen tweets from other students sitting near us posting about what [Sasser] said,”
“This isn’t the first time this kind of issue has happened on campus, and I didn’t want to let this go unheard. Nothing was being done about these situations, and people aren’t talking about it enough.”
Gulebain received lots of support from the student body and her friend elevated the situation by contacting the school and the head coach about what transpired. Sasser was later dismissed from the baseball team and also issued a public apology but didn’t specify what he was apologizing for. He also says that im and Fields are good.
