The Jordan Brand Classic is a showcase of the best and most highly sought after high school basketball players. After two years in Charlotte, NC the game returns to New York and will be held at the new Barclays Center.
This year’s game will be a preview of what the University of Kentucky will put on the floor next season, as a game high 5 recruits will participate.
“This year’s roster could be one of the most talented in the 12 years of the Jordan Brand Classic,” said Larry Miller, president of Jordan Brand.
Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison, James Young, Dakari Johnson, and Marcus Lee are the 5 recruits playing that will suit up for Kentucky next year.
Other teams that will have multiple players represented are the Florida Gators (Kasey Hill and Chris Walker), Kansas Jayhawks (Wayne Selden and Joel Embiid), Duke Blue Devils (Jabari Parker and Matt Jones), and the Indiana Hoosiers (Noah Vonleh and Troy Williams).
The #1 high school prospect, Andrew Wiggins who is undecided, will also participate setting up a much-anticipated match-up between the him and Jabari Parker, the nation’s top two recruits.
The Jordan Brand Classic is one of the best showcases of future NBA talent, and in previous years has featured Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, and Derrick Rose to name a few.
This years game will be televised on ESPN2 April 13th.
