Will and Jada Smith are very involved in the black community when it comes to donating and having foundations geared to help inner-city families. They recently donated $150,000 to the Justice…or Else March that is set to take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Here are the details via Complex:
The march, also called the Million Man March, is an annual event, and this year will mark its 20th anniversary. The first march took place on Oct. 16, 1995, and was organized by Minister Louis Farrakhan, who is again organizing and raising funds for this year’s event. Farrakhan publicly thanked the Smiths for their donation at a rally in Philadelphia earlier this month. To fund the entire event Farrakhan needs $1.8 million, and he’s traveling around the country to campaign for the funds.
What a great example the Smith’s have set. Other entertainers need to step up to the plate and donate for a cause especially with all of the recent racial injustice happening right here in our country. The march is set to take place October 10, 2015 at 10 am.
