Let's get one thing straight, Brett Favre is a man's man. He is an ode to all of the bearded throwback football players of the 60's and 70's. Players back then did not retire. They played until they broke a neck or something worse. Part of the reason is that, unlike today's NFL, the contracts were not as lucrative. Therefore, most of those players kept playing football because that is what they knew from the time they were playing in pee-wee leagues.
Brett is no Tiki Barber. While he has always been a media darling, he did not salivate with dreams of sitting in the booth with "loud-mouth, has-beens" waiting their turn to criticize the next great athlete. Brett left it all on the field and took repeated punishment that only an aged porn-star could endure. Brett also left an interception as his last pass in the NFL. That has to burn inside him, at least a little bit.
For those very reasons, mark my words, Brett is not done. Mr. Favre will once again get on that NFL horse like the John Wayne maverick the media portrays him as. Brett is still in top physical condition, proven by this last season. While he may not have the foot movement he once had, Brett still has a gun of an arm, a weapon that is the last to leave an aging QB. It stays like a boxer's power. Brett will be back, just wait. If Troy Aikman can risk head trauma, and Jordan can risk his legacy, I'm sure Brett will take back a few words and tears.
