It's tournament time; one of my favorite events on the sports calendar. And while everyone is anticipating last second shots and mid-major upsets, I'm looking forward to the inevitable trampling of these pathetic lower seeds.
Nothing pleases me more than to see the Ivy League champion's hope crushed by the 10 minute mark in the first half. Or the pride of the MAC division calling 3 timeouts within a 1 minute span to try to slow the offensive onslaught of their superior foe. But thanks to ESPN, hopefully, I can see some true fireworks.
By fireworks, I mean the bad boy of college basketball himself: Bob Knight. ESPN has given me the gift of watching a ticking time bomb as a side dish to my college basketball main course. Unfortunately, Bob Knight doing commentary on ESPN has been a snooze fest so far.
Bobby, what is the problem? I want to see expletives flying left-and-right and self-righteous sermons on what is wrong with today's college athletes. I want to see that deep resentment you harbor for your former mentee Coach Krzyzewski, because he will soon, if he has not already, trumped your legacy. I want you to tell-off your network cronies, who have never coached a day in their life, that they are dead wrong. But you haven't done this.
Instead, you are acting polite and courteous as if you are a member of Snoop Dogg's entourage at a Suge Knight party. This is not why you were hired. When ESPN hired Rush Limbaugh, they got their money's worth: inflammatory commentary that resulted in his removal; heated commentary and improved ratings. If this keeps up, the only thing I'll have to look forward to are those tacky sweaters you love to wear. ESPN didn't hire you as an analyst because you were the best person available. You got the job because you were the most controversial available. Now pick up that studio chair and give us what we want!

I wish he would throw a chair at me
First off Tony it is coach knight only my grandmother rest her soul can call me bobby and not get slapped in the face. Secondly ESPN is paying me more than Digger and Jay Bilas combined so do you really think I am going to screw that up your moron?
Are you from Michigan? that explains a lot
Tony,
I heard a local radio host comment on this yesterday, and his take was that the rest of the crew are riding him so much he can't get controversial. They give him softball questions, and never bring up his Indiana days, except Vitale, who wasn't in the studio and praised Knight as Mr. Indiana.
kissing ass is an artform at espn
I'm hoping that he will be unleashed the closer we come to some of the better matchups
Guys you are not alone believe me. I’m absolutely agree with you. It doesn’t matter what other people would say just trust me. I know for sure that it’s about real events.
Blah-blah-blah. I don’t care about you opinion, your words mean nothing to me. I’m big, bad and always just.
