There are certain teams that stick out in your mind as teams that you will never ever forget and always relate to. For me, those teams are the Early 90's UNLV teams, 90's Cowboys, 90's Bulls, Shaq & Kobe Lakers.
However, none of them compare to the effect that the Michigan Fab 5 had on me. With the upcoming retirement of Chris Webber, it is like a death in the family. (I think Juwan Howard is still playing but stuck deep on somebody's bench.). They never won that National Championship, but their effect on basketball and many many young Black males like me is evident even today.
I don't think any of them reached their full potential in the pros, but for the two-years all five of them were together, it was definitely something special. I wish Chris Webber good luck with his post-NBA career.

thanks to Cwebb and company we went out of business
Robert your right. Man did the FAB Five have a impact on my basketball life. Everybody who was a teenager in that era. Wanted to have a bald head and wear baggy socks when they played. Hell that's were the Stern League took the baggy shorts look from.
I still got a cwebb throwback
