We hear about child support everyday. For those of you who are not familiar with child support, the true definition of child support is: funding for the child. Well, Tracy McGrady's babymama was granted $54,000 a year.

Get this though. At first, Ms. Pearl Vega wanted $204,000 a year to match McGrady's $21.6 million annual income. The reason for all of that is because she felt like McGrady's other children in wedlock were getting more such as a 16,000 birthday party for 40 kids with a magician, clown, face painter, games and music. Also his other children go on trips and do more fun things.

I mean that's what families do,am I correct? The whole thing in a nutshell is that she is trying to live a lifestyle that she never had. Getting child support from McGrady will change her whole life around because she plans to use the money to attend college as a fulltime student, get a full-time nanny and other domestic help because she knows that McGrady shares a six-bedroom, 23,000-square-foot house with a pool outside Houston with his wife and three children. He spends $5,000 per month on a chef and $1,732 for a housekeeper and his FAMILY spends about $45,000 per month for personal travel, sometimes on private jets.

My personal thought is: Why isn't this out of wedlock child included in any of these activities? Reguardless of the fact that it isn't his wife's child, its still his child and he/she should know her extended family. Correct? Maybe it's just me, but in the long run, sisters and brothers will need each other in the future. As far as the babymama, just goes to show that she isn't a "go getta". There are financial aid programs and grants she can get to further her career. Come on now Pearl, don't use your baby as a excuse to live your fantasy lifestyle.

50,000 is enough. I don't even make 50,000 a year so she should get a job like everybody else.

Just a money grab in my opinion. While I think T-Mac should treat all his children the same I think asking for 200,000 a year is a bit much.

Yes, 200,000 is a bit much for one child but its not like shes asking for that much just for the child, she wants to be taken care of too, she's not his child. I think females have it all screwd up when they get child support. its for the child not for you to take and go buy the latest chanel bag with. so thats why she only was granted 54,000 a year.

Get as much money as you can girl

She seems more concern with the money than concerned about the fact he sounds like an abstantee day.

2nd round virgin

what is the point of your story? it makes no point. it seems like you side with the mother, but then like you side with the father.

in a nutshell, support is not designed to elevate one's status of living. To allow this one case to elevate the mother's standard of living would set precedent in caselaw that would blow open a window of opportunity for unimagineable abuses.

it would be like giving any unmarried mother a free option on the earning potential of a man. everytime the man succeeds, the woman would run to court claiming "foul," give me more money -- e.g., the entitlement program!!

However, rest assured, every set back that the father encounters in his earning ability, the same mother would still insist on receiving the money she had previously enjoyed and pursue the father through the courts to receive money that he never was in fact receiving, even to the point of being jailed for contempt of court. Yes, we now live in country where woman are jailing men under the guise of being "deadbeat dads" when the courts impose unfathomable support orders on these innocent dads.

I agree that some women & men who receive child support abuse it & some are really good. I know some who says that they put the money away for the child to attend college etc.. I also believe that as bad as it sound if the law says give 33%, 20% or whatever the poor people have to give of their income everyone should do it no exceptions. Although, I do believe 200,000 is toooooo much but the law is the law. Maybe there are some conflicts with the wife regarding the other children traveling with them on vacations. Tracy should always remember that those kids are his for life but his wife could be asking for 200,000 in a matter of months.

I have it on good authority tracy mcgrady is a deadbeat

Iyuana I just wanted to say that my boyfriend left this site up when he went to work and I just happened to see your article. I am glad to see there are women out there keeping us ladies informed about the juicier side of sports. Keep up the good work

Thank you Melody..That's my job..
and to whoever said it sounds like im siding with the babysmother, im not. im not siding with anyone. its just sad to see women get money signs in their eyes looking and a man. and im pretty sure you know that point of the story without me pointing it out.
