It's gonna be a long year....
for us Redskins fans. Judging by last night's debacle, our guys are going to suck really bad. I don't know what was worse, watching the Skins struggle to move the ball or seeing Joe Gibbs on stage at the Republican convention. 4-12 looks like a real possibilty right about now.
Don't get too happy, though, Giant fans
You man Eli would have had at least two more picks if the Skins DBs could hold on to the ball. The G-Mens offense got shut out in the second half after ringing up 16 points in the first half, and other than the one sack Justin Tuck got in the first quarter, they had little pass rush going on. This still looks like a long year for them, too. in other words, if they'd been playing somebody good they'd have lost. From the looks of things, the Eagles and Cowboys will be the class of the division unless something changes.
Idiot alert!
So let me get this straight: you're an unemployed NFL quarterback who hasn't played very well lately and/or had a major injury recently, and you think you can dictate terms to to people? Right...... First Daunte Culpepper 'retires' because he can't find work, then I hear on the local radio that the Ravens had thought about talking to Joey Harrington or Chirs Simms about filling in one of their injury related vacancies but those guys apparently were looking for too much in terms of money or starting opportunity. Culpepper retiring is like me calling a press conference to say I won't be dating Halle Berry. Basically, no one wanted him, at least as a day one starter, so he took his ball and went home. Now if there are only about eight teams who were openly looking for a veteran to either back up a young starter or compete for a spot as a stopgap starter, and three of them are teams you already played for who don't want you back (Minnesota, Miami, and Oakland) then your hands are pretty much tied aren't they. You should do what Byron Leftwich did and accept a backup gig until something better comes along. Nice job, Daunte. Same goes for Garbage Harrington as we call him here. Pay attention, Michael Vick!
Can we please trim down the studio shows?
I will agree with/steal from the Sports Guy at ESPN.com and save that more than four guys in the studio is too many. And now everybody has gone to the bloated studio crew. How are these guys going to get a word in once Olbermann and Patrick get back together? Man....
The takeover is coming, ESPN
NFL Network's going to be doing its own studio pregame show? Wow.... Mark it down, in a few years the draft will be NFL Network-only, along with whatever else they can get away with stashing there. ESPN is on notice!

The Redskins look horrible
if they was playing the eagles the giants and tha skins woulda lost by 20 points
Slow down family... Shoulda coulda woulda... If Corey Webster would of caught a sure INT that Romo threw in last years playoff game... it would of even been a game. If the Giants Db's would of turn the heads and looked behind them in last years super bowl Tom Brady would of threw about 3 picks. In other words, it means nothing.
They dominated the Skins, and if the SKins ever really threatened maybe GilBride would of opened up the playbook in the redzone, which was bad. It's early and you can tell that E hasn't practiced with his first team receivers. The O will be better I think.
The Eagles the class of the division?! How? Unless something changes in the playoffs. The Giants are the team to beat in this divison and the Eagles and Skins are battling for 3rd!
Long year for the Giants? haha They looked pretty dominant to me. Don't let the 16 points confuse you. They whooped the Skins up and down the field. They had little pass rush going on? What game we're you watching? They only had one sack because Campbell and Zorn was scared to death. I mean their D-Line dominated the Skins offensive line so bad, the Skins could barely even attempt to pass the ball homie. Don't confuse the number of sacks in the box score as a barometer for the pressure on the Qb- it surely looked to me that Campbell was being harassed all night to me.
