The Day After Tomorrow..NFL BreakDown Week 1

nfl_a_brady_400.jpg

Each week of the NFL Season I will break down every NFL Game as they are happening. The early games will be posted first. Then the afternoon games. Then the Sunday Night Game and finally the Monday Night games, so check in often.

Kansas City Chiefs 10 vs. New England Patriots 17

I don't know if you believe in Karma, but from the time they found out the Patriots were cheaters after Week 1 last year it appears the Football Gods have been toying with them. Let them go 18-0 before losing in the Super Bowl to a team that had 6 losses in the regular season. During the preseason they had to deal with the mysterious Brady injuries and the horrible play of Matt Cassel.

Now in the first game of the season Brady blows out his ACL. Coincidence? I think not.

It appears the Matt Cassel to Randy Moss era will be starting in Week 2 and in turn a dynasty maybe coming to an end. The fact they won the game doesn't mean much it isn't like the Chiefs are the Colts because now every team in the AFC are all thinking the big bad bully has been transferred to another school.

If the Giants gave teams hope this injury gives them belief.

As for the Chiefs all I have to say Huard>Croyle.

Carolina Panthers 26 vs. San Diego Chargers 24

This game started out extremely boring. I never felt it would be the game of the day, but it was. The Chargers should be ashamed of themselves. There is no way that the Panthers with their best player sitting at home contemplating who is the next teammate he is going to beat down should be able to roll up over 400 yard in total offense or a so-called elite defense.

I mean who in the blue hell is Dante Rosario?

The Chargers window of opportunity to win a Super Bowl is closing and not to beat a dead horse, but with Brady going down that can't let games like this happened. There are people who believe that the Chargers will never be a Super Bowl winner with Norv Turner as their coach. Count me as one of those people.

I always liked Jake Delhomme because he isn't the most talented guy, but he just has a lot of moxie. You can tell his teammates believe in him. That was a great 2 minute drill considering his receiving core was minus Steve Smith. The pass to Rosario was a thing of beauty and will be the highlight of Week 1 for me.

New York Favres 20 vs. Miami Dolphins 14

I have been a critic of "God" Favre's decision making in the past but the one thing you have to give him is he has a gun. His TD pass to Cotchery was a thing of beauty. His "hail mary" on 4th down is why you both love and hate him. It is going to be an interesting year in Jersey.

Man-Genius I don't want to hear your kicker was hurt you never ever go for two that early in the game. It almost cost you.

The Dolphins played hard and had an opportunity to win the game that is all you can ask for. Chad Pennington is an upgrade but it is going to be a long year. It was good to see Pretty Ricky Williams out there playing well.

Dallas Cowboys 28 vs. Cleveland Browns 10

The sad thing for the Browns is that it should have been a lot worse. The Cowboys beat down the Browns on the road and they made it look easy. Romo, Barber, Witten and T.O. all did what you would expect. How about Felix Jones though? When Marion Barber went out with a rib injury Jones came and looked impressive. The Cowboys offensive will be hard to stop and the secondary showed improvement. With Tom Brady out for the year you have to say that Cowboys are now the Super Bowl favorite. By the way the NFL needs to chill out with the celebration rules. Terrell Owens's Usain Bolt TD celebration was fun and shouldn't cost his team 15 yards. Lighten up.

It is going to be a long year for the Browns they have a killer schedule, a cream puff secondary and a QB controversy that is about to come to the surface. What was up with Braylon Edwards? It was like he was playing like he had money on the Cowboys. The Browns better figure out something quick or their season will be over before the month of September is done.

Tampa Bay Bucs 20 vs. New Orleans Kardashians 24

First off Kim Kardashian is fine, secondly whatever she said to Reggie Bush before game time it must have worked because he was playing like a #2 pick in the draft. Still needs to get that YPC up, but as a receiver he was outstanding and was the main reason they won the game.

I get the feeling that the Bucs are going to play a lot of games similar to this where it comes down to the last minute. Their offense is decent. Their defense is decent. Nothing spectacular just a good team. Had a chance to win the game at the end but Garcia couldn't pull it out.

Minnesota Vikings 19 vs. Green Bay Packers 24

The Aaron Rodgers era begins with a win. He played well as the Packers hung on to beat the Vikings. He has a very good team around him, so as long as he doesn't make mistakes the Packers are going to win a lot of games

The Vikings simply put will only go as far as Tarvaris Jackson will take them and at this point it doesn't look like that will be very far, but the season is still young.

Denver Broncos 41 vs. Oakland Raiders 14

0-16 Oakland Raiders?

Chicago Bears 29 vs. Indianapolis Colts 13

Call it the curse of the RCA Dome. Don't make any excuses for the Colts. Peyton Manning looked fine seeing that he threw the ball 49 times. The Bears just came to Lucas Oil Field (that is a horrible name) and beat down the Colts in every way, shape, form and fashion. That was smash mouth football at its finest. The Colts were manhandled simple as that.

This Matt Forte kid is going to be good. He did not look like rookie, he looked like he has been playing for years and to be honest in one game he looked better than Cedric Benson ever did. I tried to tell people Kyle Orton could be a good NFL QB. You have to remember when Orton was at Purdue all he did was throw 40-50 times a game and you just don't forget how to sling it around. He was excellent and if the defense and running game holds up watch out for the Bears.

Detroit Lions 21 vs. Atlanta Falcons 34

I will say this until I am blue in the face until the Lions fire Matt Millen the Lions will be horrible. There are no excuses for losing to the Falcons and a rookie QB. They came out flat and were out hit by the Falcons. Simply put the Falcons wanted it more. The Lions just sucked always have and until Millen is fired always will.

Matt Ryan passed his first test. The most important thing about his stat line "NO INTS". Honestly I think I could have QB the Falcons if I knew Michael Turner would run for 220. No player looked more impressive than Burner Turner. I am kicking myself for not didn't get him in my fantasy leagues. He is going to be a star as long as he stays healthy.

Cincinnati Ocho Cincos 10 vs. Baltimore Ravens 17

Joey Flack did not throw any INTs and had a bunch of dropped passes. He played well for a rookie starting his first game. The Ravens offense looked like it always does meaning getting 17 points was an offensive explosion, but the defense did what it always does win the game.

I knew Cincy was in for a long day when they didn't let Chad Ocho Cinco wear his new jersey. When he came out in the old Chad Johnson I predicted the "L" would be coming. They looked horrible. Carson Palmer looked like David Klinger. The offense line sucked. The running backs looked clueless. The hot seat is officially on fire for Marvin Lewis.

Washington Redskins 7 vs. New York Giants 16

You want to know why the Giants won just watch this clip:

Jacksonville Jaguars 10 vs. Tennessee Titans 17

David Garrard had 3 INTs all last year, but he had 2 against the Titans. Honestly I have no idea how the Titans win these games, but they always do. Jacksonville was my sleeper Super Bowl pick but these are games they are supposed to win.
VY went down with a knee injury. He will be out 2-4 weeks, but the Titans are in good hands with the Commander Kerry Collins.

Seattle Seahawks 10 vs. Buffalo Bills 34

I am calling my agent right now (if I had one) to see if the Seahawks want me to come in. If you didn't know "Ya Boy" was a Jerry Rice styled WR in high school and a killer on the Flag Football team at The Ohio State University. The Seahawks just looked lost.

Watch out for the Bills. Just remember where you heard it first.

Saint Louis Rams 3 vs. Philadelphia Eagles 38

Simply put this was a JV team playing a NFL team. I know Philly fans are excited but just remember this was the Saint Louis Rams who quite possibly would go 0-16 if they didn't play in the NFC West. But definitely a good start for the Eagles.

Houston Texans 17 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers 38

Willie Parker 2007- 2 Rushing TDs
Willie Parker 2008- 3 Rushing TDs

When are people going to realize that the Texans aren't expansion team anymore? Less excuses more results.

The Atlanta Falcons , as a professional team of NFL, is one of the major teams that have fans all around the world. It’s quite normal if Atlanta Falcons are so pricy because such Atlanta Falcons tickets worth any price. It doesn’t matter if we pay a respected amount of money for Falcons tickets because we satisfy our eagerness to watch good games and more than that, when we get Atlanta Falcons ticket , It’s because we love this team. Thus, Atlanta Falcons tickets prices will never be a problem for a real fan of the team.
