T.O. Speaks The Truth On McNabb

tomcnabb.jpg

Here are a few quotes from Owens made to the Associated Press about his relationship with Donovan McNabb and why he didn't think it worked out in Philly.

"I will say that Donovan made me a better receiver in Philadelphia, but I think Donovan would have a hard time admitting I made him a better quarterback," he said.

Owens also suggested their problems were the result of McNabb being insecure about Owens' popularity surpassing that of the quarterback, saying, "I remember being in that stadium and hearing them chanting my name, and that couldn't bode well for Donovan."

When asked about how it seemed Philly dominated the NFC East when he was an Eagle, much as the Cowboys are doing now, Owens suggested it was largely because he had changed teams. "The common denominator was me being in both places, but I will let you make that assessment," he said.

As someone who had contact with both T.O.'s inner circle and members of the Eagles around that time what Owens is saying it completely true. Many players on the Eagles felt that McNabb who has always been overly sensitive was jealous of the shine Owens was getting and was secretly the reason he was suspended by the Eagles in 2005. The numbers don't lie though since T.O. left the Eagles have been an average team and Dallas has been elite. When T.O. was with the Eagles they were elite and went to the Super Bowl. So who do you think was right and who do you think was wrong?

here comes robert littal to to's rescue

Realest shit I never wrote

McNabb is a b*tch

i agree the media just went apeshit on T.O. and everyone went to mcnabb's side...production shuts everyone up....guess T.O. was the right one........this is kind of like kobe and shaq.......everyone was on shaqs side around the time he won the miami championship........but now everyones changing sides

Exactly

Not true man. As someone who knows both of them I can tell you that TO is the one with insecurity problem. IT all stems from his messed up childhood and having nothing but women in his life at an early age.

are you aware that mcnabb was in 4 probowls before T.O. came to the eagles???

ae you aware that mcnabb led the the eagles to 3 straight NFC title games before T.O.came to the eagles???

so,how do you figure that T.O. was right when he said that he made mcnabb a better Q.B.????

the fact that mcnabb thrived before T.O. got there, with milquetoast at wide reciever tells me that he was already a great Q.B...

as far as T.O'S "inner circle" goes...why exactly would you expect an unbiased assesment of that situation from them???..of course they're gonna side with their guy...DUHH!!!!!

and many players on the eagles???..what is that supposed to mean???...how many players is "many"???you talk as if the majority of that team felt that way...

T.O. got suspended in 2005 by the eagles because he was a fucking selfish ass malcontent..just like he was with the 49'ers...you can't criticize fellow players, your head coach and team management and not expect negative repercussions..he brought it on himself...and to even insinuate that he got suspended because of mcnabb's conspiring (absolute hearsay).is completely absurd on your part mr.littal.

and i also disagree with you about the numbers not lying as far as how the cowboys and the eagles have done since that incident.mcnabb missed time in 05,06, and last season because of injury...and i don't think i'm going out on a limb by saying that over the the last 3 seasons the man has not been healthy...don't you think that's played a role in how the eagles have done in that time span??

and the cowboys are "elite"????

really???

when did this happen???

i mean don't get me wrong.the cowboys have been good over the last couple years.but how did they get to be elite???

don't elite teams win championships???

don't elite teams at least win a playoff game???

if i'm not mistaken, the cowboys have done neither.....so to call them "elite" for now is a bit of a stretch..

true the eagles were elite in when T.O...but it ain't like it was just because of him...it had a lot to do with the fact that the eagles had one of the best defenses in the league that year. and had 4 probowlers from that defense...

if you gonna make a point make a point that has a few more facts, and a little less bias...
