According to ESPN(along with various other news outlets), Elgin Baylor's tenure as the Clippers' GM is over. As to why is anyone's guess but word out there is that there was a falling out between Donald Sterling, the owner of the Clippers and Elgin Baylor. Mike Dunleavy Sr, (the other Mike D plays for the Pacers) will take over as the GM of the Clippers. Honestly this move just highlights why the Clippers are the red-headed stepchild of the Lakers in Los Angeles. Despite the dysfunction that is the Lakers, they manage to win or at the very least be relevant. The Clippers are nothing but a pitiful punchline and manage to have entertaining moments few and far between. Personally if I were Elgin Baylor I would consider this a blessing, you were never going to win with this franchise especially one with an owner like Donald Sterling. Not to mention this franchise is "cursed" I mean they had that great season in 2005-06 but beyond that who remembers them? They draft great players that go elsewhere or busts that just don't go away. It makes a lot of sense as to why Elton Brand bolted to the Sixers among other things. Oddly enough if there is a team that has benefitted from this its the Raiders who may get knocked out of the headlines for a while with this latest development of how to ruin a franchise.
