KTLK, is a radio station in Minneapolis which features a segment known as "Media Matters in America" with the hosts Langdon Perry and Chris Baker. In their October 8th broadcast, they were talking about how one can live with long-term diseases and given Magic's condition it was obvious he would be used as an example. They mentioned of course in that broadcast they thought he faked AIDS. Now first off Magic technically does not have AIDS, he has HIV the disease that causes AIDS. However due to the drugs he's taking and the fact he takes care of himself he has managed to control his condition. That being said while I was initially appalled they would say this I had to also keep in mind that one they are shock jocks they are supposed to appall you. The other thing was there have been rumors that Magic really does not have HIV anymore that he was able to get a cure from the government who is keeping it from the public. So if they're basing it off of that well then I can see where they are coming from. Now I can totally see our government doing that to the general public but whether its true or not is something I cannot say wholeheartedly. Putting all that aside I did find it rather irresponsible of them to accuse anyone of "faking AIDS" I mean tell that to the families of Ryan White, Arthur Ashe, and a slew of other people who died of this horrible disease. This is what Magic had to say:
"I am extremely disappointed in KTLK in Minneapolis. I am outraged that Chris Baker and Langdon Perry would minimize such a serious and deadly issue. Millions are dying from HIV/AIDS and the fact that they would make jokes about my status is unbelievable," Johnson said. "Chris, Langdon and KTLK should use their power in a more positive light by encouraging people to get tested for this disease instead of making up such ridiculous lies."
Really after that nothing more needs to be said.

I don't agree with the radio DJs but Magic does have some magic portion
