The Day After Tomorrow..NFL BreakDown Week 7

Each week of the NFL Season I will break down every NFL Game as they are happening. The early games will be posted first. Then the afternoon games. Then the Sunday Night Game and finally the Monday Night game, so check in often.

Dallas Cowboys 7 vs. Saint Louis Rams 34 (Check the Highlights)

Many people thought the Rams had a chance against the Cowboys, but I don't think anyone thought they would put the beat down on the Cowboys like they did.

I mean this was a Hopkins vs. Pavlik destruction. The Cowboys after their initial drive was never in the game. Brad Johnson looked like he was just signed two days ago. It was truly a shocking performance but a team that is suppose to be a Super Bowl favorite. Wade Phillips had a look on has face like what am I supposed to do?
Jerry Jones face is melting and somewhere Jimmy Johnson, Donovan McNabb and Jeff Garcia are somewhere laughing. Pacman might have to take a drink after watching this game.

The Cowboys are at a crossroads where there season is going to go one or two ways. Either they are going to circle the wagons or they are going to self destruct. For the first time in awhile I am leaning toward self destruction.

Minnesota Vikings 41 vs. Chicago Bears 48

Yes you are reading that score correctly. I thought the Bears and Vikings were supposed to be defensive specialists? I am still dumbfounding that the Bears almost scored 50 points while only rushing for about 75 yards.

I think I should let people know something. I know you are having a hard time believe that it is Kyle Orton slinging the ball all around the field like he is Peyton Manning, but you have to remember that Orton played college ball at Purdue where it was nothing for him to throw 40, 50 and sometimes 60 times a game, so he is definitely comfortable doing that so you shouldn't be that surprised.

I will tell you when I knew this game was over. The Vikings were down 48 to 31 with about 8 minutes left in the game. They faced a 4th down at about their 5 yard line and they decided to kick a field goal. When you are down 17 with eight minutes to go you need touchdowns. By the time the Vikings got the ball back down 48-41 there was only a minute left and they needed to go 85 yards with no timeouts. If you are down 17 you need to score touchdowns so when it comes down to the end of the game you are in a position to kick a FG to win or tie. The Child Molester should know better than that.

New Orleans Saints 7 vs. Carolina Panthers 30

Early this morning someone suggested the best way to slow Reggie Bush down was to show pictures of R&B singer Ray J (aka the guy in the Sex tape with Kim Kardashian) on the jumbotron or to have him sing the national anthem.

Why am I bringing this up? Just an excuse to post a YouTube of Kim K.
By the way the NFC South is so confounding who knows what is going to happen for week to week so why even try? Reggie Bush did leave with a knee injury so we will keep an eye on that.

Cleveland Browns 11 vs. Washington Redskins 14

Hold off on that Browns renaissance.

Clinton Portis=MVP?

New York Jets 13 vs. Oakland Raiders 16 OT

Tom Cable don't you watch TV? Don't you know that calling a T.O. before the game tying FG normally backfires on the team calling the timeout? Just stop it. Just stop it. With that being said the Raiders played inspired ball. Offense still has a long ways to go and they are still very undisciplined but at least they competed. They have some talent if they can keep the drama to the minimum they have a shot to win some games.
The gift and curse when dealing with "God" Favre. But this is a game the Jets will look back on and be like "Damn!"

Indianapolis Colts 14 vs. Green Bay Packers 34

These aren't your older brother Colts. They were simply overwhelmed by the Packers who weren't actually setting the world on fire coming into the game. The problem is in the offensive line. Simply put when he doesn't have time Peyton Manning is an ordinary QB and he has been harassed all year. The fact he wasn't mobile before and is even less mobile now after his knee surgery. It is a recipe for disaster.
Aaron Rogers has won me over. He is a tough kid who came into an impossible situation and is making it work. It is obvious he is hurt and he is toughing it out big time. I don't think the Packers have found their identity yet Post-Brett but at least they know who there leader is now.

Detroit Lions 21 vs. Houston Texans 28

Well I was going to talk about this game and then realized I didn't care. Andre Johnson is a beast though.

Baltimore Ravens 27 vs. Miami Dolphins 13

Wildcat couldn't save them today. There was a Willis McGahee sighting and he was looking good.

Tennessee Titans 34 vs. Kansas City Chiefs 10

Chiefs are a sad, sad franchise.

Pittsburgh Steelers 38 vs. Cincinnati Bengals 10

As expected.

San Diego Chargers 14 vs. Buffalo Bills 23

The Chargers=Cowboys West

Any questions?

San Francisco 49ers 17 vs. New York Giants 29

I think you are seeing the end of the Mike Nolan era. Sometimes some things just aren't meant to be and it just isn't working in San Fran with Nolan.

The Giants played like garbage in my opinion. The offense is clicking like it was earlier in the season. Eli and Plaxico even though they hooked up on a TD pass they look out of sync. Considering what is going on in Dallas it may seem like nitpicking, but they are going to have to pick up there execution. Eli is starting to revert back a little to his pre-playoff self the completion % needs to be better than 50%.

thank you sir

Good stuff but I gotta ask who the hell is going to win it this year? The league is wide open, I don't know who to pick.

Portis is playing some good ball. As JM said above, its wide open.
