I figure if everyone keeps saying the same thing over and over including our incoming President eventually someone will listen. Once again the BCS is BS. Here is the situation this year.
Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, Alabama, Florida, USC and Penn Sate could all potentially end the season with one loss. Now of course only two can play for the National Championship.
Oklahoma lost to Texas, Texas lost to Texas Tech, Texas Tech lost to Oklahoma, Florida lost to Ole Miss, USC lost to Oregon State, Alabama could potentially lose to Florida and Penn State lost to Iowa.
Now you tell me who are the best two teams in the country?
Just imagine being an Alabama fan going undefeated all year losing to Florida and then being dropped behind all of the above mention teams purely because you lost late in the season. Honestly what is a better lost Alabama in a neutral site to Florida or Florida losing at the Swamp to Ole Miss?
The system is garbage. Any voter who voted Oklahoma over Texas should be slapped Ike Turner style. They beat them head to head at a neutral site.
At this point it is a glorified popularity contest and I hope this is a campaign promise of a playoff is something President Obama follows through on.

BCS system ain't going no where til at least after 2014 when that 4 year mega contract with ESPN expires and is up for renewal. We all know they ain't about nothing but the almighty dollar like any other major institution in this country. No amount of ranting and raving on our part will change that. Sad thing is the majority of fans in the Sportsnation will support this just by turning their TVs and tuning into the same Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl games with the same ole matchups they've been complaining about for years!
Qiana I have faith in our President that he will do something. Just cause ESPN has a BCS contract doesn't mean the BCS system couldn't be used for an 8 team playoff using the current bowl system.

I agree that there needs to be a playoff in college football and hopefully there will be one in place soon. However, if you think Texas should be in over Oklahoma,then you believe that Texas Tech should be in over Texas. USC has one lost on the road and Florida has one lost at home, who has the better team.
It's a voting system and style points (however that's determined) is a part of the process. The Sooner put a whupping on the Red Raiders, so with a loss like that, Texas Tech does not deserve to be in the BCS championship. The two best teams in the country right now are Florida and USC, Florida controls their destiny but USC doesn't because they play in the PAC Ten. Go figure

I have faith in our President too but this is a capitalist society we live in and please don't think the government doesn't benefit from a non playoff system in some way,shape or form. These maybe major corporations that enjoy tax loopholes but those advertising dollars aren't tax free honey. Like the economy, Obama didn't come equipped with a fairy dust and a magic wand to wave. So there if there is no easy fix for the economy, there damn sure aint one for the BCS system. Welcome to reality. Live in it! lol As much as the majority of us want it, including myself, a playoff system is a looooong ways off.
