Wes Welker was "Jacked Up" by Ryan Clark. Had me going:
I give him credit for getting back into the game. Say what you want about Welker he is tough especially considering his size. Definitely a cheap shot by Ryan Clark guess he has been getting lessons from the Hines Ward school of dirty hits.
I forgot this is Pittsburgh Steelers fans we are talking about, so I have to expand on an obvious thought. Watch the play objectively. As the ball is tipped all of the Steelers on the play stop. Except for Clark who can clearly see that the ball is going to the ground. He proceeds to take two steps and launch himself into Welker. Now it was not helmet to helmet. He definitely hit him with his shoulder, but was it necessary? No. Was it a cheap shot? Yes. Was Clark trying to send a message to the Patriots? Of course.
Should it have been a penalty? Yes. Fine? That is questionable because he didn't lead with the head, so I would say no the penalty was enough.
Now that is an objective unbiased view of the play. I would suggest you try to do the same.
