Congratulations to CC Sabathia for swindling $160 Million from the New York Yankees. More power to Sabathia and his agent in this economy to have a team guarantee him $22.85 million each year for the next seven years. Of course this is the Yankees we are talking about who just throw money around like Floyd Mayweather at the strip club.
You would have thought after the Barry Zito fiasco those teams would be more careful on how they spent their money. I can guarantee you that by the 3rd year of the deal the Yankees will be regretting it. Sabathia is an outstanding pitcher, but as we have learn there is one thing to pitch in Cleveland and Milwaukee, but a totally a different thing to pitch in the NYC.
It appears the other teams that were bidding for Sabathia came no where near the amount of money the Yankees offer. This once again shows that the Yankees believe they can buy a World Series when it has been proven that expensive free agents normally do more harm than good.
I wonder how many buffets CC will buy out with his new found riches? He will be on the DL with a .500 record by the All-Star Break. Mark the tape.
