"Team of Me" At It Again

TO%20poster.jpgCome on folks, you knew it was going to happen. We shouldn't be surprised at all that Terrell Owens is upset with another quarterback. Reports are that T.O. is upset that Tony Romo and Jason Whitten hold secret meetings in which they discuss made up plays together which results in T.O. not being given the ball enough. I mean...where to start with that. And before some of you say that this report is rumor, first consider that you have to honestly believe that a media outlet made this up to pick on T.O. Then you have to consider the following quote from the team captain and linebacker Bradie James:

"Linebacker Bradie James acknowledged to ESPN that his status as one of the team captains has caused him to play a peacemaker role between Romo and Owens.

"Whenever the fire gets blazing, I know,'' James said. "Sometimes, I don't want to step on anybody's toes, but we all talk.

"It just is what it is ... It's just two different guys, two different personalities and they know what's at stake. They know that everybody needs them. And there's no dislike. It's just sometimes, not everybody is going to see eye to eye. That's what makes a football team.''

Interesting quotes from the team captain. He said, "whenever the fire gets blazing" which eludes to the fact that it has blazed before. I have said this once and I will say it again; siding with Terrell Owens means that you are willing to accept that ALL these instances of problems are just happen stance and that T.O. is just as unlucky as Pacman Jones.

Just like Pacman is just always in the wrong place, T.O. just happens to run into quarterbacks, coaches, media, or owners who just want to pick on him and make him seem like the bad guy. Sorry, its just not true.

And in case you needed more quotes, here is another quote from a teammate. Doubt it because there is no name attached if you will, but I doubt seriously ESPN would just create a quote just to again...pick on T.O. Here you go:

"He's insecure about it,'' the player said of Owens. "The thing that bothers me more than anything about this problem is that it's always something with him -- San Fran, Philly and here, always something. And he brings other people into it. You know, he talks to Sam Hurd and Roy Williams, who just got here and doesn't really know these guys. T.O. talks to him and so now he probably thinks Witten politics with Tony for the ball.

"That's so far from the truth. You think Tony is throwing to him because that's his buddy? His best buddy is Bobby Carpenter, and that's not helping him too much. It's crazy to think that, and I hate that he acts that way.''

This doesn't make T.O. evil. He's not shooting people or himself, he doesn't have 20 kids like Shawn Kemp, he isn't being caught smoking crack like the WR out of Jacksonville (his name escapes me). But just because you aren't acting Pacman-ish doesn't mean its okay to act as he acts. It just doesn't make sense

He's just an individual who is petty, jealous, insecure, and selfish and he makes himself an easy target and story with the media because of these types of things. So keep blaming Jeff Garcia; keep blaming McNabb; keep blaming Andy Reid, and now in T.O. world its Jason Garrett's fault, Tony Romo's fault, and Jason Whitten's fault. Whose next? Im sure this won't be the last time he has some problems and Im sure it won't be his fault again.

BlackSportsOnline is now Cowboys Central.

I respect your opinion on this issue, but I'm going to respectfully disagree. RL beat me to it, but it's shortsighted to put all the blame on Owens. He may be a lot of things, but he has not been proven to be a liar. If anything, he often speaks the truth (like the Philly situation) about what's going on and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here. As for the anonymous sources, I'll say this much: An unidentified source is an unreliable source.

you are a bitch, hope your kids become part of an amber alert

I hear you Cornelius. You know here at BSO there's no bs bias or that I-went-to-school-for journalism-and-I'm-jealous-of-these-rich athletes bias. The Bottom line with T.O. is he is a noodle. Plain and simple. It doesn't take a scientist to know he just wants his numbers. But my response to him is who doesn't? I wanted to run the point forward in high school and felt I could of been first team all star in the district but I had to settle for 2nd.

He reminds me of my little nephews arguing over who gets the stix next on Call of Duty. You know he wants Rice record... but he ain't getting it.

What's being over looked here is the fact that T.O. is still a good player but I think he's lost a step. So I guess Romo ignores T.O. even though he's open all game right?!!... right!

- and know this doesn't mean i'm blaming T.O. for the situation Dallas is in.

Look, in the end with 3 games left, the Playoffs start now!
