In honor of our new President our good friends at Layupdrill.com dropped their 44 Greatest Players in NBA History. I think you can guess who is #1, but check out the rest of the list you might be surprised:

This is a list consisting of the greatest players that Layupdrill.com have seen in their lifetime. Since they aren't as old as Greg Oden (I am soooooo funny) it only includes players from the last 25 years.

The list is the 44 Greatest Players I personally have ever seen play, and since I started watching the game roughly 25 years ago, I did not include anyone who played prior.

While I respect you prefaced your comments by indicating in your lifetime, let me suggest that you contact your cable company, if you don't already have it, and get NBA TV. Here, just like TV Land, you can see old games and interviews with old players.
I'm also glad that you dedicated this countdown of yours to our 44th President. My response to you is inspired by the part in his speech where he states, and I quote, "Our challenges have be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new, but those values with which our success depends (hard work, fair play, courage, loyalty and tolerance--these things are old."
The players you named are there because the players you didn't see provided the fair play, courage and tolerance needed to elevate this game both you and I love. So out of respect for old school and the golden rule that basketball would be nothing without it's big man, I give you my top 44 NBA players of all times:

A list that includes Tmac, Arenas, Carmelo Anthony, Ray Allen, Dirk NOwitzky, Chris Webber, Vince Carter... as part of the 44 greatest NBA players ever is a JOKE. A FAT JOKE!!!! and Pippen in top 10???
Lol the comments are great. Let me clarify a few things regarding the list. The list breaks down the top 44 players I personally had seen. Since I, like the majority of the audience of my site, are under 30, the list ranks players from 1980-2008, Hence the reason why some of the all-time greats are not on there.
There was one correction that we made, that was not posted originally, which was a simple edit that did not save of having Charles Barkley on the final published list.
