Think back to April of 2008.
Everyone thought the mother of Arizona Cardinals' fullback Terrelle Smith was delusional. Here is a woman, wraught with breast cancer, with the cells spreading to her brain, fighting every day for life, and her son is playing on the only team that has not reached a conference championship game since the AFL-NFL merger. Yet, here she is, proclaiming she saw him playing at home in the NFC Championship game.

More after the jump...
Smith has been on the wrong end of certain teams...not that he has ever been bad, his teams generally were. He was with the Saints, the Browns, and the Cards. Not easy. Yet, when his mother said that, he thought it was just a crazy statement by a woman whose brain just isn't what it used to be (from the Arizona Republic article by Kent Somers and Richard Obert)...
"Doctors say sometimes they get delusional and, at times, we thought she was," Smith said. "But now it lines up. It makes sense, and it tells me what to fight for every week."
Smith's mother lasted almost the entire season, but succumbed in December. Smith's father passed away four years earlier. The fullback is dedicating this Sunday's game to both of his parents.
"I'm keeping a positive out of something that could devastate you badly."

That is a really nice story. I am rooting for the Cardinals
