So far, The Wrestler has received a lot of good buzz since its release late in 2008, and the man who plays Randy 'The Ram' Robinson, Mickey Rourke (yes, the same Mickey Rourke who allegedly offended his 8 1/2 Weeks co-star, Kim Basinger by not wearing deodorant...), already has a Golden Globe for his work.
Rourke admitted to beefing up for the role, but just how much was chemical?
In today's Rush & Molloy from the NY Daily News, it could be a lot, according to Men's Journal.
Mickey Rourke really did those backflips and rope dives in "The Wrestler," but probably not without a little help. Though he doubled his daily 80-minute workouts with an Israeli cage fighter and ate seven meals a day, Men's Journal reports that he most likely took steroids.
When asked, Rourke said: "When I'm a wrestler, I behave like a wrestler."
Film is celluloid; steroids rids you of cellulite...and testicles. Now, let's talk to Roger Clemens...
Oh yes, some quick notes on Rourke:
1. in vintage Rourke form, he thanked his two dogs upon winning the Golden Globe award.
2. He is scheduled to work in Sylvester Stallone's film in production called The Expendables, which also stars Randy Couture. That way, he can find out how to win WITHOUT using steroids (though Couture has been rumored to have used them, without direct evidence.).

I heard Rourke consulted Lance Armstrong about steriod use and Lance said he experience no side effects.
