Yes JJ Redick's still in the league, he just hit 4 threes and scored 15
points Friday night just going to take him awhile to figure out his role in
the league isn't to dominate but take pressure off the superstars.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of white players performing well in the
pros. Some have been the best at their position. Dirk Nowitski is a
7'1" pure shooter. That's deadly. Look up the stats partner, when
Dallas played Minnesota in the 2003 playoffs, Dirk averaged 30 pts and
15 boards a game on KG. Tuesday night he got 44 and 14. He's a superstar. When Dirk misses, it's because of him, not the guy guarding him. That's power. He can shoot
whenever he feels and it has a great chance of always going in.
Steve Nash won 2 MVP's. He made his teammates better, averaged over 11
assists per game and made 50% of his shots as an NBA guard. That's
unheard of in this day and age. Only other guard to do that is Chris
Paul.
Jason Williams got criticized but how many times did he have to make Gary
Payton trip over his own feet before you give him his due credit. Just
because he didn't do the fundamental bounce pass like Larry Brown would
love doesn't mean he wasn't legit. Ask Randy Moss how good he was they
played together in high school.
How about Manu Ginobili. The Spurs aren't the same without him.
Kirilenko? He's 6'9", athletic, and with his long arms is one of the
few guys that gives Kobe trouble.
Pau Gasol? Or his brother Marc? The Lakers were an 8th place team
barely making the playoffs until Pau arrived. What do you mean there's
no quality white ballers?
Being a player, or anything for that matter, isn't about color. That's
another ignorant stereotype, there's busts black, Asian, white, Spanish
every year.
Plenty of white players are coming into the NBA; they're just being
imported from overseas. There's a reason. Foreign players aren't
nearly as pampered as American high school and college athletes, and
succeeding can be the difference between basketball or working for
10,000 lire and living in some impoverished village.
Take Reddick for example. He graduated from Duke, if he doesn't make it
in basketball he'll always have something to fall back on. Not so with a
lot of the foreign players, so I think they work harder to improve their
games and come over hungry and ready to do battle.
Skin color doesn't determine if you can make it in the League. You may
think it's about athleticism, and that's a part, but only if you let it
be. You don't have to be athletic to succeed in the NBA...that's why
Larry Bird is an all time great.
This is BASKETBALL. Not track, high jump or long jump. What's
the goal? To put a ball through a net. You don't have to be athletic
to get a shot off, you just have to understand how to create space. And
if you can get your shot off, and when you shoot it goes in, you have a
place in the NBA. PERIOD.
And using athleticism as an excuse is a cop out anyway. Anyone can buy
a pair of strength shoes and improve their speed and start dunking out.
Those that don't choose not to.
Forget about skin color. It makes no difference whatsoever.

First off any article that uses JJ Reddick as a reference I can't take seriously.
Secondly you named several Eurpean players and I read the John Powers article and it seems to me he was speaking of American born players so that point is invalid.
The reason the NBA is populated by more black and eurpean players is because they are just better and that isn't racism that is fact.
My article was addressing white college players who dominate in school but fizzle in the pros. Euro players are entirely different. Race is no issue to how great a player can be, it only comes factors in when certain players fail to produce but continue to get second chances. I was never saying that white players cant ball, only that college stars like Reddick and Morrison don't face the harsh criticisms that black college stars do, a la Marvin Williams before this year.
By the way, one decent game doesn't make JJ a superstar.

David Lee, Kirk Heinrich, Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy are arguably the best white american pros in the past 10 years. what can you say after that?
Fam first off good read, but the NBA is all about size and freakish athleticism... i'm 6 4'... but my 6'4" and say Steve Francis 6'4" is different. He can do stuff at my size that I simply can't do. The NBA is all about sumpreme athletes... I have a nice little jumper, got a little handle and all that. But I can't jump like Lou Williams, i'm not quick Jason Terry, and i'm not as fast with the ball as Kyle Lowrie. Notice I mentioned just decent NBA players... you mentioned Bird... and how he got it done without the athleticism... but there's only one Bird... he's an exception. I'm just talking about the average player. Do you know how many white College players who can shoot the rock with anybody but didn't make it to the league because they lack the athleticism to get off a decent shot???? I play ball... play in summer league in Philly with a mix of locals players college players and pros like Jameer Nelson, TIm Legler, Rasual Butler and some others just to name a few. Understand YOU HAVE TO BE ATHLETIC TO CONSISTENTLY GET OFF SHOTS AGAINST NBA ATHLETES. Plain and simple... you can understand how to creat space all day.. and thats cool but athleticism is the difference between somebody like Mike Miller (a legit two guard) or the Irish kid that plays for the Celtics... a 3 point specialist
There are exceptions but genetics and being a super athlete has more to do with it than your letting on. JJ Reddick can only score 15 because of the presence of SuperMan aka D12 on the court... and we all know that.
Besides Marc Gasol and those cats you mentioned are Spanish man. They aren't white.
