University of Miami quarterback Robert Marve was granted a release from his scholarship Tuesday. While this move was not unexpected, Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon has placed strict stipulations on his transfer. The U will not allow Marve to transfer to any schools in the Southeastern and Atlantic Coast conferences or any schools in Florida.
Now before anyone gets ticked at Shannon and his stipulaions, you should know that it is common for schools to release players from scholarships with certain restrictions, such as prohibiting a transfer to a league or future opponent.
Now, on to a little more back story on Marve. Marve was a former Mr. Football while playing at Tampa Plant High. While he was at The U, he was constantly on the national scene and not all the time in a positive light. He was injured in a car accident while driving to campus in 2007, this forced him to redshirt his freshman season. He was then named the starter in August, but missed the season-opener to serve a suspension for an arrest the previous season. Marve was charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly breaking a car rearview mirror.
The final straw for Marve came after the regular season, when he was suspended for the Emerald Bowl due to academic reasons.
While Mrave is a talented kid, he needs to work out some of his issues before he enrolls at another program, or he will run the risk of being a wash out before he even makes a splash.

Someone should tell this kid to wash his X's off his hands after he gets out of the strip club before taking photos.
