NFL Wildcard Weekend:

Indianapolis Colts 17 vs. San Diego Chargers 23

Lets state the obvious the Chargers don't need Ladainian Tomlinson anymore. They should cut him in the offseason and use that cap money for somebody else. Now with that being said that was a hell of a game. I am going to talk about the Colts first.

WATCH PEYTON MANNING CATCHING A SLEEPING CHARGERS DEFENSE:

Peyton Manning is a great Quarterback and Tony Dungy is a great coach but simply put they are the Atlanta Braves of the National Football League. Manning has won his MVPs and his one Super Bowl, but in the back of your mind I think everyone knows he should have won more championships by now. Because Dungy is such a nice guy he is hard to criticize, but simply put he has not gotten the job done in a lot of these playoff games where the Colts were favored to win. In the end the Colts and specifically Peyton Manning will be more known as a great regular season team and QB who chokes in the playoffs.

You should be scared of the Chargers. They are playing with house money and regardless of who they play next week I will be hard press to find reasons not to pick them to win. Football is such a sport of momentum and who has more right now. Their defense sans for one play, played tremendously. Darren Sproles my goodness can you play a better game? He single handily kept the Chargers in the game. There were four or five plays where he simply would not be denied including the last play of the game.

Simply outstanding.

Atlanta Falcons 24 vs. Arizona Cardinals 30

I hate to say that I told you so, but I told you so. Rookie QB + Rookie Coach + Playing on the road against a team no one respects= Upset.

Edgerrin James should have never been benched. There is much to being a good NFL running back than running fast. I think Ken Weisenhunt understands that now. Edge showed he still has some gas left in the tank and he was the main reason why the Cardinals are moving on to the next round. If the Cardinals can muster any type of running game it makes them a dangerous team going forward. Nice game by Kurt Warner. You give him time and nice weather conditions and he will tear you apart especially against a defense in Atlanta which is ok, but isn't great. Brilliant game killing drive by the Cardinals.

CHECK OUT ANTREL ROLLE'S AMAZING FUMBLE RECOVERY TOUCHDOWN

The Falcons had an outstanding year and should try to build on this.

Baltimore Ravens 27 vs. Miami Dolphins 9

If you watched the Dolphins all year you had to know unless they kept it close until the 4th quarter they had no chance against Baltimore. Simply put almost every Dolphins victory was extremely close even against sub par competition. They just aren't built to come from behind especially against a great defense like the Ravens. Add on to the fact the Dolphins only turned the ball over 13 times all year, but 5 times in this game the outcome isn't surprising.

WATCH ED REED TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE:

Ed Reed is a beast. When he returned a Pennington INT for TD essentially the game was over. Is there a better safety in the league when healthy? I don't think so. Joe Flacco played ok, but more importantly no sacks and no turnovers and that is the most important thing for him. He is going to have to play better though for them to continue to win.

Philadelphia Eagles 26 vs. Minnesota Vikings 14

Until the Vikings establish a professional passing game and have a coach that doesn't coach like he is scared to get fired they will be a non-factor. Down 23-14 with less than six minutes left with an offense that had one good offensive play all day and you punt? That is a coach that was just happy to be in the playoffs not one who actually wanted to win. Brad Childress has coached like this since he got the job. The Vikings have Adrian Peterson and a decent defense, but until they upgrade the coach they will be stuck in neutral.

The Eagles did what they were expected to do. The real test will be next week in NYC. I am surprise that it took them three quarters to put the Vikings away. Can't wait for next week.

Just for the record, straight up cutting LT would be a bad idea.

Even if he has lost a step I'm sure the last thing the Chargers want to happen is him going to Denver. That's a nightmare for them and quite frankly something they don't want to happen.

And even if they might not really need him anymore, he's still good even if he's not the fantasy football juggernaut he used to be.

I'm pretty sure he still had 1500 total yards and 12 touchdowns this regular season and those are numbers a lot guys wish they could have. So while they may not NEED him, cutting him would be a bad idea.

LT is a shell of his old self. He will never get close to 1500 yards. He is getting hurt more often. He has no burst. He is getting over on name recognition only. The Chargers should draft a young RB and send LT on his way. Maybe not cut him, but trade him. Because in a couple of years he will be worthless.

Peyton Manning is the new Brett Favre. Plenty of accolades, MVP's, and great stats. Only one championship with little reason to believe he'll ever win another.
