For the January 30th ECHL contest between the Las Vegas Wranglers and the Bakersfield Condors in Sin City, the marketing wizards of the Wranglers wanted to come up with something special.
How can you not be excited for "Rod Blagojevich Prison Uniform Night?"

The Wranglers' marketing department came up with the plan after the embattled Illinois governor became the center of a federal corruption investigation, accused of attempting to sell the vacated Senate seat for President-elect Barack Obama.
According to Steve Silver's article in the Las Vegas Sun,
"The Wranglers will wear jerseys with broad, horizontal black and white stripes with nameplates that read, "ILLGOV" followed by each player's number for the 7:30 p.m. contest. Bakersfield jerseys are bright orange Department of Corrections style uniforms while the ECHL referees can finally act as real police in the specially designed blue jerseys.
"We envision goal judges in powdered wigs and black robes and bars on the penalty boxes," said Billy Johnson, the Wranglers' president and COO in a statement.
The Wranglers will auction all of the event's uniforms to benefit the team's charities. Team officials said they would release details of the auction soon."
The Wranglers are no strangers to specialty uniform combinations: wearing bright orange vests after the 2006 hunting accident of Vice President Dick Cheney, and several holiday-themed ones to benefit charities in the area.
I personally cannot wait to see Burt Reynolds at the game...maybe Adam Sandler will show up!
