Three teams to keep an eye on in college basketball...

Hello America!!! With the mythical college championship of football almost decided, it's time to shift your focus to college basketball. If you pay attention to the mainstream media, you'd think all there is to basketball is the Big East. I don't mean to hate on the Big East, but let's be serious. Ten teams in the tournament? 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10. I'm just saying. If you can't finish in the top half of your conference, you should be in the NIT or at home, bottom line.

That being said, I'm gonna give you three teams (non Big East of course) to look out for for the rest of the season.

Currently at 15-0, this is a tough ballclub. Yes, some will say that they did the exact same thing last year, only to fizzle come ACC time, but I believe this year will be a little different. This year, they've beaten quality clubs such as Alabama and Illinois to get to this point. Wins like this toughen you up and give you confidence for when you go into hostile environments. I predict that amongst the top 3 in the ACC (Wake, UNC, Duke), they'll get at least 2 wins (they only play these schools a total of 4 times excluding the tournament).

2) Minnesota Gophers.gif
Currently 13-1, they play a good hard-nosed style of ball, perfect for the Big 10. I like Tubby Smith, I think the Kentucky fans treated him awfully. While their schedule hasn't been the toughest, they have knocked off Louisville on a neutral court and they've showed the ability to bounce back by beating Ohio State after losing to Michigan State. With the Big 10 being "top-heavy", Minnesota will be dangerous come NCAA time.

3) Arkansas ArkansasRazorbacks.jpg
Currently 12-1, but unranked, this is my real sleeper pick. Just in the last week, they've beaten Oklahoma and Texas, two teams with legitimate Final Four expectations. Coutney Fortson is a young man to keep an eye on. They've got Bud Walton Arena back to where it was back in the early 90's when Nolan Richardson was running "40 minutes of hell". That's gonna be a scary building for opponents to go into.

Why not a full top ten list? While I agree with Terence,there are other threats in the NCAA that equally as menacing. Just wondering if you focused on these teams simply cuz their not in the top 10 and have good win-loss records.
