From Shaq's TWISM to Ron Artest's Tru Warrior to Allen Iverson, Chris Webber, Kobe Bryant and Gheorge Muresan, everybody has had some form of a mixtape or rap album. I think it's safe to say nobody has been critically acclaimed. The closest anybody got was Shaq...it's true, he does like playing on the west side. He even likes playing on the east side.
But Phoenix Sun forward, Amare Stoudemire is rocking hip-hop from a different perspective. Rather than be a baller-turned-rapper, Stoudemire started his own record label and has been pursuing a career as a artist manager, and has created a collaborative deal with popular rapper T.I. to merge record labels. The point of the new merged label is to both manage artists as well as athletes as T.I. has shown an interest in sports management.
Amare's label Hypocalypto Records and T.I.'s Grand Hustle will now work together in hopes to launch a creative and successful joint venture. Amare's first project, a rapper by the name of Juice, will be the first collaborative project for the two.
Check out a small video clip after the jump.
Invited to the event were Killer Mike, Big Kuntry King, Lisa Leslie (WNBA), Ovie Mughelli (Falcons), Drumma Boy, Deon Grant, and a few others to show their support.

Should interesting to see how the duo works out.
