In a continuing effort to crack down on misdeeds and mishaps of the financial sector and automotive industry, the government is sparing no expense in the time and money it is dedicating to sending Barry Bonds up the creek without a paddle. After all, it's the menaces of baseball such as Bonds and Roger Clemens that are the real threat to this country, not the economy, healthcare, financial institutions and fortune 500 corporations or education.
Most of you will remember Bonds scandal broke in 2001, when suspicions of performance drug enhancement use ran amuck shortly after Bonds hit a record 73 home runs in one season, shattering the record previously held by Mark McGwire. During a raid of Bonds' ex-trainer, Greg Anderson's home as part of the BALCO investigation, federal authorities "coerced" Anderson into giving an interview resulting in the name dropping of some of his most distinguished clients including Estalella, Santiago and two other former Giants' players, Armando Rios and Marvin Bernard, the same clients' who will act as witnesses for the prosecution when Bonds' faces perjury charges at his upcoming trial set on March 2nd in San Francisco.
Also joining the lynch mob are Tigers outfielder and Bonds former workout partner, Gary Sheffield in addition to retired Oakland A's outfielder Jason Giambi and his brother Jeremy Giambi who all allege that they were obtained drugs from Anderson after being introduced to him through Bonds.
While Jason danced and pranced around the issue with more finesse than a "Dancing with the Stars" finalist, Sheffield flat out stated that although he was unaware that "the cream" and "the clear" he obtained from Anderson were performance enhancing drugs ,Barry Bonds used them too.
A urine sample that Barry Bonds submitted as part of Major League Baseball's anonymous testing program in 2003 has come back positive for three types of PEDs, according to a New York Times report. Thanks to a court order set in motion by U.S. District judge Susan Illston, this evidence previously sealed in conjunction with witness testimony will be the proverbial "nail in the coffin" the government needs to disapprove the "crazy" notion that Bonds did not lie under oath about knowingly using performance enhancement drugs.
Back in 2003, Bonds had testified to a federal grand jury investigating the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative that he used "the cream" and "the clear" but did not know they were performance-enhancing drugs. During that testimony, Bonds was asked if he ever took steroids, to which he of course answered no. Sound familiar? Hmm I wonder if Marion Jones would have offered up such a tear jerker if she had sealed court documents and a ride or die trainer on her side versus an estranged bitter ex- husband and trainer ready to offer her up on a silver platter at the slightest opportunity of impending fame.
The more pressing question for the prosecution should be whether the issue is with Bonds shattering a long standing home run record set by Mark McGwire while under the influence of performance enhancing drugs or the simple fact that if he did use performance enhancing drugs, why hasn't he been caught? Nothing is worse than a liar and cheater but one that has gotten away with it? The injustice of it all! The nerve of Barry Bonds! How dare he pull an Osama Bin Laden and insult the government's intelligence! With his defense lawyers scrambling to have all evidence suppressed including 24 drug tests, recorded conversations about Bonds, BALCO log sheets and prosecution witness testimonies to name a few, the witch hunts have returned to Salem and there's nothing like a good old fashioned public burning at the stake.
Burn, Barry, Burn!

This is nothing but a glorified witch hunt
This is another chapter in the witch hunt to ruin Bonds' life. Im not saying he cheated, but to me its seems that since he was never tested positive for any drugs in MLB that they are going out of their way to crucify him indirectly. I believe that he took steroids, but the credibility of MLB and all the records of the steroid era have been tainted beyond repair.
Even if he is convicted, Bonds' conviction will not change what has happened. MLB needed fans to come back after the 1994 strike. To do so, it sold it's sold to the devil and let countless people jack steroid-fueled home run after steroid-fueled home run out of ballparks to get fans excited again. Now they wanna persecute everyone that they allowed to cheat for the "honor and credibility of the game's sake". Yet, they were willing to turn a blind eye before. The powers that be, Selig in particular and the owners, managers, players, fans, etc are all hypocrites. I cannot wait for this saga to end so that I do not have to hear about it anymore.
Yea now that same judge has had a "change of heart" and might bar the same test results that showed he tested positive for three different types of PED's (performance enhancing drugs)and the doping calendars unless they were directly tied to Bonds. The crazy thing about this is Greg Anderson isn't rolling over on Barry so they don't have real "authentic" evidence against him. Just hearsay from someone at BALCO saying it's Bonds samples. Although this wasting time and taxpayer's dollars. Like I said let the witch hunt begin
I am tired of this saga! If they want to "clean up" baseball they need to haul McGwire in as well. But to be totally honest, way too much time and money on a sport when time and energy needs to be spent on more important things that are going on in our country and worldwide.
