Last night's game brought a 2.7 viewer rating with 4.3 million viewers and was the most-watched regular season game since 1996 for TNT. It was also the highest-rating game on cable since Christmas of 2004 when ESPN televised a game between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons, their first game against each other after the famous brawl between players and fans in 2003.
Lebron-Kobe on Sunday...national television? At this rate, this game will probably smash records this weekend...biggest nationally televised game in the last 10 years anybody?
The NBA is back.

Can someone please fill in the biased 'football is great and everything else sucks' media on this? They're still stuck in post lockout 1999 when it comes the league. Attendance and ratings have been up over the past season and a half, and these clowns are still crowing about no one watching the NBA anymore.
my man...
i'm not saying that nobody is watching the nba anymore. i'm a person that hasn't stopped watching, and am glad that the past 2 seasons people have slowly started watching again. but now, with there being multiple contenders, not just the spurs on one side and the pistons on one side, or the lakers on on side and a couple maybes (nets and pacers) on the other side. last year the eastern conference was terrible.
now, there's a lot of teams playing good basketball majority of the time.
that's all im saying.
never was saying that nobody is watching the nba.
The NBA is definitely back, but the NBA needs the Lakers and Celtics to be good. Imagine if New York had a contender and a star...
