Following the first loss to the Lakers, the Celtics lost to the Warriors the following night, but ended the California road trip by destroying the Sacramento Kings by 45. What's better than following up a loss to the Lakers than a game at the Madison Square Garden?
On Monday, Kobe dropped 61. On Wednesday, Lebron dropped 52 with a triple double. On Friday...It's The Truth's turn.
The self-proclaimed greatest player on the universe has a career high of 50 points, a game where he lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006. The last time Pierce had a triple double was in March of 2006.
He is having a good year and even with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joining him, it's clear that the green and white are still Pierce's team. With that said, I'm still confused why he deferred to Glen Davis twice at the end of overtime tonight. Regardless, Pierce steps into Madison Square Garden Friday nigh, but can he go wild on the New York Knicks? It's already a given that they don't play any defense. And after tonight's loss, the Celtics should be visibly upset. And after having big shots being hit in your face multiple times in the fourth quarter, Paul Pierce has got to be a little upset and motivated, only to take it out on the New York Knicks.
Sorry Knicks fans, but "Dream Week" has become nothing short of a nightmare for your franchise as a whole.
If Kevin Garnett decides to sit due to the flu tomorrow, it might be even easier for Pierce to aim for a ridiculous statistical feat. But he does have the offensive efficiency to do it.
While I find it hard to believe that the Knicks would let three players in one week walk all over them and complete historical games at home, I nonetheless think that the Knicks are in such a state of delusion, that it just might work.
While we may never see a 50 point triple double experience again, unless Lebron does it himself, Paul Pierce could very well go on cruise control and let his teammates feed off of him and do the unthinkable at the Madison Square Garden...for the third time in one week.

Paul Pierce is no where near the class of Lebron or Kobe
I agree with the first comment. Pierce is a jerk.
haha, agreed that Pierce doesn't the Lebron/Kobe-esque game, but against the Knicks in such an unlikely week, its all just speculation.
I don't think he will drop more than 30 points, but it'd be interesting to see what he does.
