Sarah Palin Wanted to Name Daughter ESPN; Settled for Bristol (Sorta Joking)

Anyone interviewing former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin these days normally comes up with questions regarding her role in Senator John McCain's loss to (now-)President Barack Obama, and whether she is still looking out her window to see Russia.

Not Esquire. They went all out...about her daughter Bristol.

More (including Palin's sportcaster vid from 1988) after the jump...

Remember that? It shows Palin's love of sports (hey, she IS a 'hockey mom'), and she truly did want to be on-air for ESPN as a high schooler.

[S]he wanted to be a sportscaster and was disappointed to learn where ESPN was located.

The Alaska governor says Connecticut was too far away. So instead, she says, she named her daughter Bristol.

It's a good thing ESPN isn't in Barkhamsted, Conn., because - well, Barkhamsted Palin would be a pretty awful name.

Bristol Palin is the one who got pregnant as a 17-year-old, almost calling into question her mother's parenting skills, and if she couldn't control her own daughter, how the world would she control the country?

Not only that, how the hell did Trig get his name? Was she good at math? Did she really like Roy Rogers' horse?
