What in the world is Steve Kerr doing to the Suns? Trading Amare? Come on man. I don't care how high maintenance he is; you don't trade a 26 year old power forward. First of all, Amare should be frustrated. The Suns have basically decided to run there offense through Shaq....the 36 year old Shaq that can no longer dominate on a consistent basis. As someone who has proven that he can dominate; why is he deferring to a no longer great big man who up until a month ago wasn't playing in back to back nights? Kerr is now reportedly open to trading Shaq. So you traded Marion for Shaq to win a championship and are now open to trading Shaq? I won't even talk about getting rid of a coach, no matter your opinion on his defensive concepts, who won more than 55 games a year while he was here. There is no clear plan it seems for Mr. Kerr.
Back to Amare; how do you trade this guy? It makes no sense. They talk about his lack of defense but have they taken a look at their point guard and his issues with playing defense? Yet somehow those are overlooked and he isn't held to the same standards. The Suns will make a mistake and trade Amare for some guy who they say has potential and some salary cap space. And then they will spend years trying to replace his talent. The Suns have for years complained about not having a great big man and have one now. It looks like Steve Kerr is willing to roll the dice and get rid of Amare. Trading Amare will mean a long term sun set in Phoenix.

when steve kerr came in and brought shaq in last season, it looked the suns were headed in the wrong direction anyway, with steve kerr alone. then mike left, and i think that was the inevitable beginning of the falling apart of this suns team. it's a bust too, because that suns team with nash, stat and matrix were fun to watch.
Suns been on the decline for years now. What's really left for Amare with the Suns? And who wants to stay loyal to a team with fans that blame him for all things wrong with the team, like he's the sole reason they suck? If anything like my man said, the wrecking ball smashed the team the moment Marion and Amare got broke up and Terry Porter came on board with his defense wins championships with no roster to match strategy.I say bring on the weapons of mass destruction. They need a clean slate

I hear you, but why trade Amare? 26 years old, explosive, still some potential to be tapped. You don't trade those guys for cap space because those guys don't grow on trees. Trade a 36 year old Shaq or a 35 year old Nash because they are old and on the decline. Not a 26 year old PF. And you certainly don't go from having AMare your go to guy to making Shaq, a guy Miami couldn't wait to get rid of, your go to guy. You tell Shaq to rebound and defend and you make Amare the guy you run your offense through.
Shaq and Amare are both on the trading block. Its a fact the Suns are not gonna win the title with the current group of players, so trade the best asset you have now to bring back players who can help you rebuild.
Good luck finding a player like Amare. They don't go on trees and trading him away hoping one day you'll have someone else like him is a very big gamble. I'd keep him and trade others to get younger. I wouldn't keep three 35+ year old players (Shaq and Nash and Grant Hill) and trade a guy with "carry the franchise" ability. You trade those and it might take you years to get another. Good luck Steve Kerr with that strategy.
The Suns have been on the decline ever since owner Robert Sarver assumed control. I never understood why he would bring in someone with ZERO executive experience like Steve Kerr. More to the point, the Suns are emulating the Detroit Lions in regards to how they are managing their roster. They should just ship Amare to the Knicks and get it over with. Their season is a bust.
And I agree with the statement that they aren't holding (2-time fraudulent league MVP) Steve Nash accountable for his lack of defense.
Not saying trade Amare. Amare maybe a good player but he got some growing up to do mentally. Wouldn't say he's the most unselfish player. Kobe had that lesson to learn. Not comparing the two however some players think it's all about them. Yes run the offense through Amare. He does score and scores well but why would you trade Steve Nash, the man your team is BUILT AROUND just because he's older than Amare? That doesn't make sense. Yea trade the man who gets the most assists on your team who sets up most of the plays THROUGH Amare! Brilliant! Come on, he had 21 assists against Detroit in one game alone lol Sorry can't agree with you there. Amare maybe more of a valuable asset than Shaq but he's not totally expendable especially if he doesn't make some adjustments to make himself not expendable
If your PG can't play solid top-level defense, you will not win a championship. The fact the nash won an MVP twice without ever getting to the Finals is a slap in the face of Jason Kidd and John Stockton, who each made the finals twice with lesser teams.
Steve Kerr got his GM job by talking about the Suns and Kerr more than other team during his tenure as a broadcaster and sportswriter.
