What A Dope! Kelloggs Drops Michael Phelps

And they say weed never hurt anybody. Sure you can still operate heavy machinery and might not reenact a scene from "Too Fast Too Furious" on the city streets potentially killing someone but your alcohol vs marijuana stats might be lost on Michael Phelps. Now that the "mistake" has been leaked by a British tabloid showing the 8 time Olympian gold medal winner bonged out at a house party this past November, Kellogg's has dropped him quicker than quality minority TV shows on major TV networks and U.S Swimming has suspended him from competition until May without pay.

USA Swimming only provides a $1,750 monthly stipend to national team members to help with travel and training expenses, plus performance bonuses. Granted it's a small percentage of the millions Phelps makes through endorsements however I doubt Phelps would trade competitive swimming for wading in a kiddie pool for 3 months straight.

"This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people, particularly the hundreds of thousands of USA Swimming member kids who look up to him as a role model and a hero," the Colorado Springs-based federation said in a statement.

Yes, the millions of kids that look up to Phelps were surely disappointed by the monstrosity of Phelps being captured getting so up, close and personal with the "sticky icky." Why where will America's children get their inspiration from to break world records and obtain other nearly impossible hopes and dreams? Hmm, luckily for Phelps, thousands of supporters have rallied around him offering up their support for his plight including fellow dopeheads, fans, teammates and other Olympians such as Olympic gold medalist, swimmer Amanda Beard who made a splash in a sea of media and public scrutiny for her naked pictorial in Playboy.

"Enough is enough," said Evan Morgenstein, a rival agent who represents a large number of Olympic swimmers. "The penalty is far greater than the crime. He has said he is sorry. Let's move on to the real problems in this country."

Even Katt Williams took some time to offer up some words of encouragement.

Despite, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott telling the Los Angeles Times that he would charge Phelps if he could prove the U.S. Olympian smoked marijuana in his county, Phelps chances for competing in the 2012 Olympics in London haven't gone up in smoke. In fact, his stock has gone up on Google with related searches Michael Phelps Smoking Weed and Michael Phelps Marijuana headlining 8,990,000 searches for the Olympian, Phelps might have other endorsement deals on the horizon such as spokesperson for High Times Magazine, his own line of 24kt gold bongs, you name it! Sky's the limit!

Weed it's Greeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt!!!!

I think this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion. More people are getting mad at the swimming association and Kellogg than they are of Phelps' pictures in the first place. It needs to be laid to rest.

Ironically, Lil Wayne goes on NATIONAL TV wasn't it with Katie C and admits to the sticky icky PUBLICLY. And what deal does he lose?? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... But then again, Lil Wayne is not a role model now is he???????????

That is because I am a "G"

This is another case where America holds athletes to a different standard than everyone else. We put them on pedestals because of their athletic feats yet we do not want to admit that despite their superhuman athletic prowess, they are HUMAN. The cannot leap tall buildings in a single bound, they do not have x-ray vision, and they cannot predict the future (if he could Michael definitely would've been smoking in a room without any cell phones or cameras)! Why do we look down on it? Because its an illegal drugs, yet if it were Tylenol, Advil, Asprin, or alcohol would it be such a big deal.

No is perfect so we need to stop expecting everyone else to be just because they are rich and/or famous. People make mistakes it's a part of life. Shoot if I had to swin 16-19 events in a single Olympics with all of the world watching under all that pressure I might need something to take off the edge myself lol. But in all seriousness I am sure that a good number of the people criticizing him smoke themselves or have CHILDREN THAT DO! He made a mistake and he is paying for it. Lastly, if you need to worship someone else to accomplish something in your life then I suggest you seek help because the confidence to be great and success should come from within first and foremost. A lot of people will try to deter you and tear you down. You have to believe in yourself before anyone else will. You have to make people believe. Don't be a follower all your life. There it's true. We have discovered that Michael Phelps is indeed living a double life. Superman in the pool and normal outside of it. OMG he's human. Yes it's reality and the rest of America needs to face it.

what a bore to have to be a role model cause ur a champ...besides, why such a big deal, only because some brainless bureaucrat woke up one day and decided that this'n an' this would be illegal (check the history of 'illegal' drugs')...why not make illegal rice or potatoes or consuming them in the amounts that'll make u a useless human pork...that would do so much more for any country than prohibiting good 'ol mj...so, all those who go an fight and kill and get killt for so said liberty causes, all US soldiers, dont do any kind of drugs?...whoa! grass is like the litest of drugs for the 'liberty' fenders...i mean, gimme a break...US publicly condemns drugs all around the world but the US is the biggest buyer of it...

I think what Kellogs did was great we need more consuners to do the same to these athletes who think they can get away with everything. Go Kellogs

Michael Phelps believes in freedom. Therefore he's stupid!
