When uber-genius Matt Millen became general manager for the Lions, many critics gave him hell for drafting three wide receivers in the first round in a row (and take a look at where each of them is now...):
2003: Charles Rogers, WR, Michigan State (#2 overall)
2004: Roy Williams, WR, Texas (#7 overall)
2005: Mike Williams, WR, USC (#10 overall)
Roy Williams, well, he's in Dallas as their #1 wideout. Mike Williams, out of football, and if I'm not mistaken, home in Tampa. Charles Rogers...he's also out of football, and in a more special place. Why?

TMZ has the exclusive mug shot for former Michigan State and Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers, who just happened to be sentenced to 30 days in jail (out in 15, with time already served) for violating terms of his probation in a domestic violence case. If you are supposed to go to court-ordered Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, just go. From an AP article regarding his sentencing, don't be like Rogers:
Court records show the 27-year-old ex-Michigan State star receiver falsified records saying he attended Alcoholic Anonymous meetings and tested positive for alcohol.
"I was wrong," he said. "I'm not perfect."
No more prophetic words could be spoken from a man. Except what came next...
"I'm just going to do my 10 days, get out of the court system and try to get in shape for a comeback," Rogers said today in a telephone interview with the Associated Press from the Oakland County jail. "Am I sad about the way my life has turned out? No, because I know the strides I've made to take care of Charles Rogers."
Rogers is following in the footsteps of the uber-genius GM Millen.
