You know there are times when you see something and all you can say is:
When I saw this picture of Andre Smith from his Alabama Pro Day that was my first thought. Smith is providing a blueprint of what not to do if you want to be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft. First he gets suspended for the Alabama Bowl Game for improper contact with an agent. Then he comes to the combine out of shape and goes missing we he realized he was screwing up. He had almost a month to prepare for his Pro Day and he comes in looking like he has been bathing in Sausage McGriddles.
One other thing that bothered me is who told Smith it would be a good idea to take his shirt off? I understand that most offensive lineman don't have "Greek God" bodies, but someone from his camp should have been like:
"Look homie I understand you are trying to impress the ladies in the stands, but studies show you run faster in a white tee, so take this XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL because I want you to do your best today."
This is either going to go one or two ways. I am not that much into pro days and combine workouts. I like to look at the tape and on tape he is an excellent player. So he is either going to be pissed off that he lost millions of dollars because he is an idiot and mauls people in the league or this is a preview of a bust waiting to happen.
Not because of the bad interviews and workout results, but because it shows the mental makeup of someone to fragile mentally to make it in the NFL.
You can't be a punk and be weak minded in the NFL. He already is getting a reputation for cracking under pressure. Some team will still take a chance on him in the middle of the first round (he is too talented not to take a risk on) and it will be on him to show if he wants to be known as the "fat boy" who couldn't handle the stress of the NFL or the man who made everyone pay for passing on him.
