Kurt Warner & The Lord Come To Terms With The Arizona Cardinals

kurtwarner4.jpg

The lord has spoken and decided to tell Kurt Warner that 2 years and 23 million (19 million guaranteed) was the right deal to take to keep him in Arizona.

I have nothing personal against Kurt Warner. I think he is a nice guy and I think he is a talented Quarterback, but this dog and pony show with the Lord, the Cardinals and his agent was simply ridiculous.

Simply put religion and contract negotiations don't mix and we found that out in the way this entire thing was handled. Warner was on record saying that the Lord will tell him what to do, so I can only assume that the Lord told Warner that playing for 2 years and 20 million weren't enough (the Cardinals initial offer).

Warner was also on record saying that the lord was telling him that he would either play for the Cardinals or retire. I guess the Lord's phone was off when Warner decided to take a trip to San Francisco (i.e. a negotiating ploy).

Your religion is your business, but remember sports is a business, so you better be careful of the words you say because you could be branded as a fraud and a hypocrite and I am sure the Lord wouldn't like that.

Good read. I was just reading about this on Comcast, and I'm thinking to myself "WTF?", like how does dude turn down 20 mil, take a trip to SF (to try to get some kind of leverage in his negotiations) and then tell his agent to get the deal done in AZ for less than SF supposedly offered, because thats where God wants him? I'm not sure where in the Bible God talks about using leverage, but whatever.

Keep up the good work on the site.
